DO NOT TAKE THEIR SHUTTLE TO A CONCERT! Three of us attended the Saturday night Luke Combs concert at Am Fam Field. Our hotel was nearby so we decided to give the Who's on Layton shuttle a try. Dinner was basic bar food and ok. The initial process to get the shuttle was fantastic. We got a 15 minute heads up that the shuttle was on it's way. We were able to use the restroom, get a roadie, and settle our bill without feeling rushed. Shawn was our driver down. He told us he would be making multiple trips after the concert and he "promised" he would get us all home. He also said he was the only shuttle driver that night. When he dropped us off, he said he'd pick us up right there (or a little left) of that spot. So we knew where to return to, we took a picture of the exact spot. No confusion on our part then and no reason to not get a ride back. Well, I wish I could say the ride back to the bar went as great, it absolutely did not! We found the bus afterwards, it was full, so we thought ok, Shawn will be back because they're making multiple trips to get all of us. So we waited, and waited, and waited. We saw other bars come by MULTIPLE times, but no Who's on Layton. We now had met 3 other people who were also waiting for this shuttle. Ninety minutes had gone by and no return shuttle. One of our party decided to call them to see what happened. We were told the shuttle would be there in "ten minutes". Cool. After about thirty minutes, we saw the shuttle way south of where we were waiting (we had gone back to the EXACT spot of drop off as instructed). We started walking to the shuttle (there were now a total of eight of us.) We got there and were denied entry despite there being room for all of us. Shawn pulled out and LEFT US THERE!!!! We were now two hours post concert. We decided we would take the Steny's shuttle and then Uber from Steny's back to Who's on Layton. When we told the Steny's Shuttle driver what happened, he told us the other Steny's shuttle driver would take drop ALL of us off at Who's on Layton. When we got back to Who's on Layton at 12:45 am, the lights were out, the chairs were on the table, and the doors were locked. We saw a few people by the bar. There were about five cars in the parking lot. One of our party knocked on the door to tell them, not that they cared, but the eight of us had been brought back by Steny's. The person said "Oh sh*t. I'm sorry. We had over seven hundred people take the shuttle tonight." This was an absolute lie!!!! Their parking lot doesn't hold more than fifty cars at best. Even the street that's right there couldn't hold that many cars. Plus we NEVER moved from the drop off spot and saw every shuttle that came in that area. They made a total of two trips and didn't care how or if the eight of us got back there to get our vehicles. They got what they wanted from us. Preconcert dinner and drinks. After that, we don't exist. Do yourself a huge favor, take the Steny's shuttle, they actually care about their customers. Avoid...
Read moreWent to the grand opening and greatly enjoyed country fried fish fry (It's not the same anymore, highly recommend to not get as the new product is tasteless).
Came back few months later, ordered same country fried fish fry and got a different fish and breading. Receipt said country fried fish fry so told server I got wrong order she stated that's the only one they have walked away. I was not rude when I asked, I just thought it was weird as it was different than what had been served in the past.
I contacted restaurant to ask if the special breading was discontinued and have yet to hear a response.
Stopped in today to pick up basket of tater tots and cheese curds. Ordered online from the parking lot in my car at 5:17, walked straight into bar and informed staff my order was placed online. I sat at the bar, the order was said to be ready at 5:34. At 5:30 I started watching kitchen door (there was a bag at this time sitting by the register but was in front of staff members...mind you 5 of them and 1 server running around, all just talking or looking at their phones). At 5:47 I asked staff to see if they forgot to make my order as it was 13 min past it's ready time. Bartender grabbed the bag that was on counter at 530 (so placed before 530) and gave me the bag that had been sitting over 20 mins. I should've checked it there but wanted to be home after a day of work.
I get home must to my surprise an appetizer order of tator tots gets you 15 tots for 7.95, that's 53 cents per tator tot...I didn't think inflation was hitting us that hard. Not to mention soggy and cold.
We were looking forward to cheese curds as well but as they had been sitting they they were soggy and cold. Not to mention the melted/deformed cup of mariniara sauce, likely packaged with the curds fresh out the fryer. The sauce was spilled all over the container.
The business needs a training system in my opinion. I shouldn't have to notify staff to grab my order. Food can be packaged with regards to spillage. The food is overpriced for the portions given. And not even speaking as someone who left hungry, but then don't put 15 tator tots as a appetizer... To share......
Read moreI’m middle ground after visiting who’s on Layton. I would go back given this is their soft opening month, but they are lacking in some areas tremendously. We asked the server, Priscilla, several easy questions that she had no answer to (Instead of getting someone who might know the answer she just said I don’t know). I get it’s a soft opening, but expecting parents to bring their children and pay $15 for a simple cheeseburger and FF is insane as a kids menu should have absolutely been implemented in the soft opening. It wouldn’t be hard to add a couple simple things to a soft opening menu: Mac n cheese, burger, or chicken tenders to name a few. The manager was walking around making sure tables were okay, but our server was MIA for most of the visit (our drinks stayed empty, our app dishes remained on the table, our lunch plates never removed), and it wasn’t even busy.. we arrived at 11:15. That being said, if I’m paying $108 for lunch (2 adults 3 kids) I’m Expecting at least decently good service. The food isn’t anything outstanding.. it’s fair pub food. Lastly, pay attention to your check at the end of your visit as they don’t even ask if your paying cash or card and they tack on a 3% credit card fee to all bills no matter what (according to our server). Do not expect your customers to pay to swipe a card, instead roll it into the price of the meals so it’s virtually invisible to the guest (The prices set to what they are def. Already reflect a 3% CC fee IMO.. the average meal is $15-$20). Please do not allow your servers to stand over the guest as they decide on the tip amount to leave. The Cajun chicken sandwich was flavorful, my oldest daughter loved her gumbo, and the cheese curds are amazing, but at the end of the day if the service isn’t fair then it makes the whole visit with little to be desired. We will give it another shot once the kinks are worked out and they have an established children’s menu :) picture of CC...
