Jimmy's Cafe — Restaurant in Mineral Wells

I called today to place an order for pick-up. I was placed on hold and forgotten about for 15 minutes. I hung up and called back for a further 15 minutes only to receive a busy signal (phone off the hook still forgetting they had someone on the line). I drove up there to place my order in person, waited 5 minutes at the counter, and was finally told they had been too busy to take phone orders and that I could stand there waiting and someone might be able to take my order in a few minutes. I said no thanks and walked out. If you are too busy, or short handed, or just don't want to serve uniformed soldiers then have the courtesy to tell me the kitchen is closed or that you are not able to take any further orders at this time. This fiasco set me and my soldiers training schedule back an hour and a half and negatively impacted our productivity this afternoon. Maybe that doesn't seem like much to some but I hate failure and that's exactly what this...

Edit 2 years later: Made it back up here and it was still pretty amazing. I think the prices went up just a bit but its worth every penny. My only complaint would be that there was zero distancing between tables and fox news was playing on all of the TVs but thats not about the food. Please try this place if you pass by.

This is one of those TV perfect diners that has all that small city charm. They greet customers by name and are all super friendly. The food is amazing! Large portions, fantastic prices. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could.

-Edit. All of that food plus coffee was only a little more then 10 dollars. Those were easily top 3 best pancakes I've had my entire life. We ended up taking left overs and it was still just as good. No wonder this place...

If you are like me, you try really hard to eat healthy but, sometimes you just need some good 'ole comfort food. You know the kind I'm talking about, it's made with lots of love and bacon grease? If you are looking for a place to eat on your cheat day or you just want to indulge your self and eat dirty, Jimmy's is your place. The food is good and so is the service!!! I have never had a bad meal and, as of yet, I have always received some of the best service in the restaurant business at this long-standing Mineral Wells gem.
