Such a Shame! ** I WOULD SUGGEST IF YOU GO TO COWBOY JACKS AND WANT A TABLE, TELL THEM YOU HAVE A PARTY OF 5 OR MORE SO YOU'LL BE SEATED. MAKE SURE YOU GET A MENU WHEN YOU ARE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST. The waitress sees the menu when you are seated and will wait on you. We have returned to Cowboys twice since my review below and it will be our last visit. The only positive, 5 stars to the Bartenders. They are very aware of the surrounding and you will be served in turned. ONE STAR On our return the first time, August 18th, the hostess could not tell us how long it would be for a table of 5. We were NEVER GIVEN MENUS when we were seated. PASS OVER as other tables were being waited on. I went to get our drinks twice before the waitress came over 45 MINUTES LATER. We left with not ordering. On our second returned, September 15. The hostess again said it's a long wait and wouldn't give us a time for the wait. I had to asked for our name to be put down. There was 5 people before us. I went to asked how long of wait after 45 minutes. I SAW THE WAITING LIST THERE WAS 5 ROWS OF PEOPLE AFTER US THAT HAD BEEN SEATED. The hostess said she was told to seat groups of people first. We were a party of 2. **COWBOYS SEES MORE MONEY IN GROUPS. We left without ordering. We have been going to Cowboy Jack’s since 2012 and seen some changes. Jack Amber beer left the house for an IPA. No specials,(Sloppy Joes), on Monday during the Twins opening day. The noise level of playing music has increased, where it’s hard to carry on a conversation. The inconsistency with ordering drinks. This is the first Sunday this has happen. Offering only vodka for bloody’s and not being able to switch it to tequila. Offering only two kinds of beer chasers. These are small changes. But it’s the small things that makes a place special. There are a lot of positives. The specials an hour before and after games, ($5.00 wings and beer specials). A favorite is the dry rub wings and the Jalapeno cheese curds. Management does come around asking how everything is. And you see the waitresses hustling to serve the customers. We will still be coming before and after the Twins games for the specials. But we’ll be cutting our stay a little shorter with the loud music.

Wanted to try somewhere different before a Lynx game. Was not too busy on the Thursday evening, was close to end of Happy Hour and they did have a decent selection of items for HH. Service was ok, nothing special. The jalapeno cheese curds had some flavor but was hoping for a bit more kick. The kids cowboy joe was a bit sweet but probably so more appealing to the younger kids. The philly sandwhich was cooked well and had a balance of meat and veggies. The Lasso fries are different but would have been better with a seasoning like season salt or similar to make them stand 9ut a bit more. The avocado turkey wrap was a little heavy on the ranch dressing but had decent flavor. The tots were standard, not over or 7nder cooked which was nice. Overall the meal and such was ok, nothing stand out, nothing horrible.

The menu offers a great variety of awesome quality food. The drinks are strong, the beer selection is solid, and their happy hour deals are some of the best in town. Plus, the rooftop patio is an absolute gem—especially in the summer! What truly sets Cowboy Jack’s apart is the friendly and attentive staff who make sure you have an amazing experience every time. Whether you’re catching a game, enjoying live music, or just hanging out with friends, this place has the perfect vibe. If you’re in Minneapolis and looking for a fun, laid-back spot with great food and drinks, Cowboy Jack’s should be at the top of your list! Highly recommend!

(This happened August 2024) Cause i didn't do my review until now cause google alerted me lol. Also, people are still having issues with some of the staff. I've been to this place only about 2 or 3 times. Same experience, unfriendly and unwelcoming here. I only went because I have friends who come here sometimes. Everything was fine at first. I was on the rooftop with my friend. We had just arrived and only had 1 drink and was about to order food but then it started to rain. There is this section on the rooftop where there is another bar and it's covered with a ceiling. We ran over to the section and was stopped by an angry lady who said that they were having a private party there. There were no ropes or anything to indicate that this half of the rooftop was closed off. I asked the lady could my friend and I just walk through to get to the exit so we didn't have to go back into the rain. She said no because it's rude. We wasn't trying to cause any trouble. Just trying to get out of the rain. But whatever. The crazy lady ended up calling a staff member over and the staff member told us we need to leave and grabbed my arm and started pulling me away from the section like I was some drunk idiot! I was so embarrassed and couldn't believe what was happening. Staff member just comes in no questions asks and puts her hands on me! I wish i would of got her name. I was so pissed off I just left. Haven't been back since! The staff member could of just escorted us out the section we didn't need to be...

Worst bartending experience of my life occurred last night.

Went to the bar to make sure they had michelob golden light (MN staple) and I saw it on tap.

Asked bartender (white male, pubes for a beard) for 2 mich goldens. He came back with 2 bottles, although I thought he’d bring pints. I asked him for a price difference on the bottles vs. the pints and he said they were the same price (bottles are 12 oz, pints are 16 oz). Kindly responded that I thought he’d bring pints and he responded along the lines of “tough luck, this is what you get”. Told him I wouldn’t pay for the bottles and he said “fine, go to a different bartender”.

Fair enough. Simple misunderstanding.

Went to the opposite side of the bar and specified that I wanted 2 Pints of mich golden. Before I could get the order out of my mouth, pube-chin walked by and told the bartender I was cut off.

Cue eye roll.

Whatever, dudes probably having a bad night or whatever.

Go back and ask my friend that I was initially buying a drink for to get the drinks (like any normal person would do) and he does.

Friend comes back with the beers and within 10 seconds we’re surrounded by security who are kicking us out.

Once again, we are civil and leave...with the crowd from our b-day party bus.

Pube-chin bartender probably cost Jacks...50? 75? Drinks that night?

At any rate, the disgruntled customer will be looking for him outside Jacks if he wants to hash this out like a...
