I refrained from indulging in food or drinks at this establishment. The negative experience was disheartening, deterring me from spending even fictional currency there. After valeting my vehicle, I was informed my keys would be left at the bar after-hours. Politely approaching a gentleman, I sought assistance but was met with dismissive eye contact before he walked away. Wearing earplugs from a concert, I questioned if my voice was too soft. When I called out, he retorted sarcastically, "I heard you," and departed. I felt perplexed. Seeking guidance elsewhere, I moved away from the bar and approached a server, but she ignored me entirely. It left me feeling disgusted. Despite multiple exits, my only desire was to leave promptly. As I prepared to depart, I noticed a nondescript jacket draped in a dimly lit area of the restaurant. Presuming it belonged to an inebriated patron, I decided to bring it to the bar. However, my attempt to hand it over politely went unnoticed. No big deal. As I checked the pockets, just a few steps away from the bar, I discovered keys. Yet again, my courteous efforts to deliver them to any bartender were completely disregarded. I resolved to walk down the hallway to the formal security desk. With only 30 seconds to explain the situation and surrender the coat, an aggressive individual approached, demanding, "Are you giving me my coat back?!" I intended to explain that I was attempting to return it, but he forcefully snatched it from my grasp, mumbling something about "his bar" as he departed. I was taken aback. Was this the conduct of an owner? It became apparent why such a negative attitude...

I Work downtown and went to the Loon on my break during a Vikings game... i Tried to order French toast they said they don't do breakfast during games.. Which I understand fully as I work at a bar myself. but then the bartender asked me have you had our french toast before I said no I haven't he said oh it's amazing haha am I ruining your day by telling you how good it is and you can't get it... I just kinda smiled... My girlfriend ordered a cup of chicken chili which I might add is an absurd size for $10.. he came back over to us two more times before we left and reminded me of how good the French toast was and continue to laugh and reminded that I couldn't get it... And kept asking me if he ruined my day it was extremely odd that he would keep asking me if he ruined my day it was almost like he was trying to... it's just French toast my guy you didn't ruin my day I just thought that you were rude and extremely weird... Then I tried again to order French toast today. (Saturday).. It was 215 they said no we stopped it 15 mins ago... There was 5 people in the bar... and they said absolutely not would they make an exception.... I dunno I guess at my work things are different theres been several times where at my bar we have an event menu going on and if there is no one in the restaurant and someone comes in and asks for an item that isn't on our event menu we do it... We accommodate the customer if we can... But I guess that's not...

Yesterday my friends and I went to this bar, the security guard was super kind to us, but the blonde waitress was totally rude and rude, I asked twice if there were cocktails there as she hadn't given us any menu, she made me repeat 5 times and said she didn't understand in a rude tone, my friends and I asked if they were still serving food and she told us to read the menu, right after that she asked me if we were there to just order uber or if we were going to order something , I felt offended, when we went to order our drinks the waitress was rude to my friend, he called her and she ignored him, instead of letting him order his drink she just brought him water, we sat there and at no point did she came to check on us, at all times he was ignorant to us, I always like to give good tips to my waiters, I always give 25% out of appreciation, but this time I gave 0, very racist towards Latin people, I will never return to this...

We stopped in after a baseball game when they were really busy. It took a while to get service, but when we did, we were lucky it was Kendra. She took good care of us thru the frenzy. We didn't want much to eat, so we split the Southwest Turkey sandwich, which was on whole grain bread, and made with fresh ingredients. Hit the spot! We tried to split the chicken chili, but it was too spicy for our tastes. Kendra didn't charge us, because she said it usually is pretty mild. It's a cool place with a lot of character. Big bar, a couple levels of seating and a few outdoor tables. Bathrooms were down quite a few steps though. Worth a stop, especially in winter to enjoy all their soups, chili and hot sandwiches.

I will give 5 stars even though we witnessed the manager eating fries from the plates and licking his fingers. He should be aware that people are watching him while he is working. He had lunch at the bar and then went back to work without washing his hands. Maybe a food service sanitation course might help him. The food was awesome. I went there twice. I got the Reuben the first time and the second time I had the sandwich with the fried eggs. The chilli (diablo) was excellent. Bartender Marcus was friendly and his service was great.

Get a grape ape or don’t go at all! Just kidding! This is one of my favorite bars in MSP. I frequented the Loon after work when I worked in the NBA, and it was something special to come back after all these years and see its charm and success unchanged. The atmosphere and energy here is always on point and the bar staff is quality. The food is just fine, no complaints. I highly recommend wetting your whistle at the Loon when you’re in the Twin Cities. Preferably, with a grape ape!
