I was in last around 8:30-9:00pm, Saturday, February 1st. N. Main, Mishawaka location. I live a block away and thought I could quickly pop in and get a cup of coffee. Asked for a simple regular house brew small cup of coffee. I was told the machine was not working, and told I could get an Americana that was some sort of espresso shots with coffee or something, and I was like “sure that’s fine” becuase I really wanted some caffeine and whatever was easiest for them, even though, like, coffee is Starbucks whole business model, their whole existence is coffee, and your telling me a brewed cup is impossible. Then I was told the card reader system was down and they would have to run the card on their “to go” register, which again I was like, “thats fine.” The store was pretty empty, only a group of three people sitting at a table that looked like they had long finished there coffee and what ever else they had, and where just hangin out chatting. And as I waited someone pulled up in the drive through. After ten minutes I didn’t receive my order, nor did I see anyone working on it, or visible employees. So I decided to leave, I wasn’t going wait another ten minutes to my already ten minutes totally 20 minutes for a cup of house brewed coffee that was over priced at $4.00 for a small, at a place who’s sole purpose is to sell coffee, at a time when it seemed the business was seemingly empty free of customers. I think my biggest take away is that Starbucks has killed the independent small coffee shops that offered great customer service only to receive Starbucks overpriced shitty coffee with poor...
Read moreI am working in SB and frequent this Starbucks frequently. I have found the staff friendly, but the service is often slow. I cannot figure out why as there are often few cars in front of me and I can see inside they are staffed. The coffee is more than not....not very hot. Not cold but not HOT. Of concern or irritation is the fact that they DOUBLE CUP the coffee. AND ADD A SLEEVE!!! First of all, they coffee is NEVER that hot. NEVER! It is a courtesy, I understand. However, it is not GREEN, it is a WASTE of resources and money. Also that is what the sleeve is for. It is HARD to keep the lid on double cupped and also hard to drink from this way. I have dropped my cup as the second started to slide off and in that process I dropped my coffee. When I asked about the double cup I was told it was Company standard for hot coffee. HMMMMM I asked a family member about this....who works at Starbucks in management. He stated this is NOT standard and I would agree. I have never been to a Starbucks who does this double cup every time. I cannot image that their costs for cups align with other stores doing this. He also stated that the stores have been encouraged to limit sleeves to save cost . I know this seems like a small first world problem. And it is....but it is frustrating as a customer to see the WASTE, and the logistical issues with a double cup. Seems the regional manger needs to address the slowness of the drive up and the green/monetary waste...
Read moreI want to thank the ladies who served me a few weeks ago on two different occasions. I am unsure of their names but they do not realize what their act of kindness did for me that morning. My family and I found out that my mom was Diagnosed with lung cancer 2 months ago and was basically sent home to us (her children) on hospice for her final days of life. We are all in our early 30s. While in the drive thru I was talking to a family member on the phone and was coming to a realization my mom wasnt going to make it through this time around. The lady in the drive thru speaker heard my cries. When I drove up to the window she handed me my coffee and told me she hopes my day gets better. A week later I came to get coffee for my sister and I who had been taking care of our Mother day and night. I completely spaced my debit card at home and before I could notify the window they had already made our drinks. And again gave me the drinks anyway and told me to just pass it on🙂. Both of these times were completely accidental!!! But I just want the ladies who served me both times to know that their kindness went along way!!! I was going through the hardest time in my life watching my mother pass and the act of these girls put me at a little ease. They were extremely friendly and understanding and it gave me one less thing I had to worry about during such a difficult time.
Thank...
