Osaka is #1 on the “to-eat in Modesto” list! My husband was a regular here before he moved, so whether we’re in town for a few days or a week, we know we’ll be dining here for lunch or dinner at some point. Kenny, the owner, is always friendly and remembers my hubs even though he moved away years ago; it’s such a pleasure to see and talk with Kenny. We generally enjoy the appetizer of pork gyoza. Their salad is the standard iceberg lettuce mix with the pink House-Mayo base; no ginger or ranch dressings here. Miso Soup is not something I’m accustomed to; the East Coast is the nation serves Clear Soup. Miso is more cloudy with chunks of tofu and seaweed....I usually push my bowl towards hubs because it’s a taste I haven’t acquired and I can’t, and won’t, do tofu. We have tried so many rolls and I love Spicy Girl and Fuji Mountain AND! Pregnant friendly - The Lion King! I highly recommend their sushi. Lunch time brings your choice of a bento box if you so choose; all generally under or about $10. Your choice of meat, served with rice, a small side of salad, some pieces of tempura, and about 4 slices of a roll which has avocado, krab, and cream cheese (I think). The go-to for the pregnant girls in our family is the teriyaki dish. Served sizzling on a hot iron skillet! Mushrooms, sliced onions, broccoli, and carrots. The rice is served on the side and you can choose chicken, steak, or salmon. Fun Fact; This place was an old Burger King and was converted to Osaka. Osaka has been around since 2007 and does get quite busy; it’s popular! I’ve witnessed people on a wait during lunch hours several times, today included.

When your favorite sushi spot is closed on Sundays you end up at a new spot, and I can honestly say we were not disappointed. We paid a visit on 12/5/21. I will definitely be adding this spot to our list of places to eat when in the mood for Sushi! Since it was our first time here I wanted to make sure we tried a couple rolls and every single roll we ordered was plated beautiful and great in size. They all had generous amounts of flavor and everything was fresh. The Tuna jalapeño poppers we tried were so good! Spicy but good! I definitely would recommend trying them! The Miso soup was tasty and warm, always a great way to start our meal. Our favorite rolls of the night were the monster and red dragon. I had no complaints about this location at all, even with this place being slightly busy the service was fast and efficient. Our Waitress Ricky was fantastic and checked in with us often. She refilled our drinks and was attentive to remove sushi plates as they emptied. Love when restaurants have fantastic food and amazing servers/workers! We ordered: Lion King Lava Roll Monster Roll Red Dragon Cherry Blossom Dragon King Paradise Roll Spicy Tuna Jalapeno poppers Edamame

Excellent sushi and service. I usually get delivery from here about once a week and they're the only ones that get it right. First, the sushi is delicious and very fresh. I ordered the Sushi and Sashimi dinner this time. This comes with slices of sashimi, some nigiri and a tuna roll. Check the pic out. It also comes with a salad and a cup of miso. Everything is always perfect! They even included chopsticks, wasabi and soy packets. Other restaurants always forget those for whatever reason. They even give you a little solo cup for you wasabi and soy. I also ordered the Shrimp Tempura which I've never had before. It was excellent! I obviously will order here again.

If you're looking for a restaurant with consistently delicious sushi and exceptional service, look no further than Osaka Sushi. I've been a regular at this restaurant for the past eight years, and I can say with confidence that every visit has been a delightful experience.

One of the things that sets Osaka Sushi apart is the quality of their ingredients. Their fish is always fresh, and the sushi rice is cooked to perfection. Each roll is carefully crafted, with attention paid to both presentation and taste. Whether you're a fan of classic rolls like the California roll or more adventurous options like the Power Roll, you're sure to find something to love on the menu.

But it's not just the food that keeps me coming back to Osaka Sushi - it's also the exceptional service. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, and they go above and beyond to ensure that every customer is satisfied. Whether you're a regular like me or a first-time visitor, you'll be treated with the same level of care and attention.

Another thing I appreciate about Osaka Sushi is the atmosphere. The restaurant is clean, modern, and comfortable, with a relaxing ambiance that's perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two.

Overall, I can't recommend Osaka Sushi highly enough. If you're a fan of sushi, this restaurant is a must-visit. With their top-tier food, exceptional service, and inviting atmosphere, it's no wonder I've been a loyal customer for eight years. Give it a try and you'll see why it's one of the best sushi...

I'm sad to say we can't leave a review on the food itself because unfortunately we didn't even get our food. We arrived around 6pm on Sunday and we were seated inside fairly quickly, which was nice. The 1 star is for that. We were asked what we'd like to drink and ordered just 3 waters. 15 minutes later a different waiter stopped and asked us about whether we wanted drinks? So we ordered 3 waters again since the first time we didnt recieve the waters. We waited at least another 15 minutes before being asked what we'd liked to eat. By then, after 30minutes at the table looking at menus we ordered everything we knew we wanted by then, including appetizers, however they were completely out of edamame. After ordering, we waited 50 additional minutes without having a single waiter come to our table. We watched 2 separate parties of 2 seated after us nearby, recieve AND finish they're food. My husband decided to wave our waiter over to ask about ours? The waiter said sorry, they're backed up, and went to check on our food time. We had now been in the restaurant 1 hour and 20 minutes total, and hadn't even recieved our 2 appetizers we'dordered. 5minutes later our waitress walked past our table again without letting us know our remaining wait time.. When we were able to get her attention again, we let her know kindly we were leaving to get our 10yr old something to eat elsewhere. A complete disappointment and huge waist of time for such...
