I usually go out of my way to support veteran owned businesses, but this place was a huge disappointment. They market themselves as if being a veteran automatically excuses bad quality, and that’s not how it works. If you’re going to sell ice cream, it needs to actually taste like ice cream, not like some knock-off, diet-friendly substitute that completely misses the mark.
They claim their ice cream is made “in-house with the best ingredients,” but I honestly don’t buy it. The texture is strange, the flavor is flat, and overall it tastes more like one of those gimmicky fad diet desserts than anything remotely close to real ice cream. Honestly, Baskin Robbins (or even store-bought tubs from the grocery store) taste far better and more authentic.
What bothers me most is how much they lean into the military angle as a marketing crutch. Being a veteran is honorable, but it shouldn’t be used to guilt people into buying a product that just isn’t good. At the end of the day, I want quality, and this was nowhere close.
If you’re looking for a treat that’s worth your money, I’d suggest going somewhere else. There are plenty of veteran owned businesses out there doing it right, but unfortunately this isn’t...
Read moreThis is not ice-cream, I’m not sure what this is but it’s not good.
The flavors are all weird names like they’re trying to be catchy, ok BUT put under that weird name what’s in the flavor ice-cream.
The semi-cold ‘dessert product’ is stretchy like gum, kind of slimy, very aerated like, not cold just cool, and has the weirdest texture like you have to chew it. Ricky road was bland and not very sweet, kind of bitter. It doesn’t melt at all like ice-cream, it stayed in a ball for 30 min with no melting happening in the store. I put it in my hot car as an experiment for another hour and finally got it to change shape but still not melt. It was $40 for 4 single scoops and 3 fountain drinks.
It reminds me of frozen pudding, weird like the old pudding pops and it doesn’t melt into a liquid again ever, no matter how long I left it in my car or house on the table. It smells like pudding like those snack packs. Photo at 30 min and video after 1 hour in my car. Another photo and video of it 24...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in Mont Belvieu — absolutely incredible ice cream. I’d put it on par with the nationally famous Jeni’s (if you know, you know). The flavors are rich, smooth, and clearly made with care — it’s all done in-house, which is wild considering how high-quality it is.
Michael, the guy working the counter, was amazing. Super nice, courteous, and really informative about each flavor — almost like an ice cream salesman 😂 He made the whole experience that much better. His service was honestly exemplary.
One little bit of feedback for the owners: y’all need a lit up sign facing the road or something. We almost didn’t stop because we weren’t sure if the place was even open. The other businesses around have lit signs, but High Voltage is hard to tell with the dark tint.
But all in...
