Sarita's Mexican Grill Restaurants — Restaurant in Monterey

I ordered beef soup very well stocked chunks of beef vegetables the only thing the broth a little bit on the watery side, but still Fair taste comes with rice but a little too heavy on the garlic it needs to be balanced and your choice of tortillas corn or flour the service delightful three ladies working the restaurant there were two in the kitchen one in the front I believe her name is Frida they do close early 6:30 p.m. I suppose they're understaffed or no business after the 6:30 p.m. hour anyway thank you Sarita's the original.

12/20/22 I stopped by to order some soup you know they're soups and basically their menu they're one of the more homemade style Mexican restaurants certainly in Monterey and in the Monterey County area with exception of a couple other restaurants.

Having said that, I have a serious complaint regarding an order of tostadas, your choice of beef or chicken I ordered the vegetarian with beans lettuce tomatoes cheese and I top it off with their delicious table salsa that you get with fresh Tortilla Chips.

I pick up the tostada and immediately it falls apart now mind you this tostada is loaded they don't hold back. It's made of flower tortilla fried so as you know it's not going to be very sturdy to hold the weight it fell near the edge of the table and on my lap and I was wearing some nice slacks so I have beans and stuff but fortunately I was able to clean myself up and it was not to noticeable.

Solution really simple it should be made of corn tortilla, it's more flavor as you may know flour tortillas are very Bland in flavor.

I still will return to this restaurant as I mentioned before very good home style cooking. Oh and by the way if you're cold especially in the winter time they don't have a heater very cold...

Mexican food is a tough one for me. 1. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are professionally trained chefs who happen to be Mexican, so... 2. My wife is the quesadilla queen. 3. I live in San Diego, so when extended family is not around, I have an abundance of options. 4. If you were to ask me the one meal for the rest of your life question, the answer would be "burrito" without hesitation. That said, Sarita's had easily one of the best burritos I've had.

My wife and I were on a road trip hitting Yosemite and Carmel. The first day we had to do some laundry near the supercharger, and next door to that laundry is Sarita's. I almost skipped it because of my Mexican food snobbiness. But it won in the end. And I'm glad it did. I ordered: The Big Burrito with Carne Asada. The balance of meat with rice beans, guac, sour cream and lettuce was heavenly. The meat was seasoned well and not chewy. The salsas that came with it were delicious too.

It was so good that my wife and I did something we NEVER do when traveling: we repeated the same restaurant. We came back and got the same burrito and a couple tacos. The carnitas tacos were equally good. Good balance of meat and onion. Good tortillas.

If you're ever coming out of Elroy's and have some extra cash, because, let's be honest, if you're shopping at Elroy's you have extra cash OR if you're just going laundry and the hunger hits, try Sarita's. You...

This is becoming really annoying. There’s one specific lady that has really terrible customer service and often messes up my orders because she doesn’t listen properly. She gets bothered when I ask questions. Then she’s rude when I correct her, she becomes sarcastic. Most of the time I will order on the phone and walk over to pick it up for my lunch, because I work around the corner. I use to go to Elroy’s then started going to Sarita’s but I can’t keep going anymore. There’s always a problem when I order from her, and I would order multiple times a week. But today was enough. I called in wanting to order something and try something new, so I asked a question about the a meal. Right away, as soon and I asked the question her tone changed. She then said did you call to ask questions or to order. I told her I called to ask a question so I can order and then she quickly said hold on and put the phone down. I waited 30 mins, figured she didn’t want to help me so I hung up and didn’t get to order. That will be the last time I try to get food from there. I don’t recommend this place at all. I told my coworker to try this place and he said he called in to order too and the lady just laughed at him and hung up. He said that wasn’t the only time the customer service was terrible. He also wouldn’t recommend it. I would rather spend double the money at Elroy’s where...
