Baumhower's Victory Grille — Restaurant in Montgomery

I have been frequenting this establishment for a minute now. It's normally my go to place on Saturday afternoons.. However this past Saturday I went there and my favorite bartender (Eric) was there whom I don't ever basically have to tell him what I want to drink because he already knows and fixes me right up. I ordered the wing combo honey barbecue and double fries with bleu cheese dressing. He rang my order in correctly and put my ticket in the glass in front of me. My food order came, or so I thought and delivered my one of the managers called Lesley. First off the wings look almost naked and half cooked with a drizzle of sauce on them. Normally when I place my order and say I want bleu cheese dressing it seems to never register and almost always end up with ranch dressing. So I asked her if I could get bleu cheese dressing and she begrudgingly told me it was bleu cheese and asked if I wanted another. I stuck my hand in the dressing in front of her and tasted it and it tasted nothing like bleu cheese and every bit of ranch. For argument sake I just asked for another bleu cheese dressing. She then asked could I get anything else and I replied by saying just my side of double fries. She then looks in the computer and tells me that I didn't have fries because Eric didn't ring me up for fries. I know mistakes are made, but I didn't believe that Eric rang up my order incorrectly. So when I looked at my receipt it said exactly what I ordered as I thought. A few seconds later this other lady walked my correct order out to me. I then looked at Lesley in disgust and she began to say that he placed my order but then had me sitting in a different numbered seat at the bar. The fact that she was wrong about everything, had a nasty attitude and displayed not one once of customer service is having me really contemplating frequenting this location anymore. This lady seems to always have some type of attitude and very unpleasant. Whatever personal issues you maybe experiencing that should not reflect your professionalism and the way you treat customers!! By the way, the wings at Baumhower's used to be one of the cities best, but it has slowly been going down in taste, texture and freshness!! It almost seems like they're being refried. I placed an online order for pick up. Spencer’s Gooey fries, chicken club wrap sub house salad no raw onions with ranch. Online you can not make edits to your order so as soon as the order was placed I called and asked a lady to make sure there was no onions on the salad. The lady told me that she would let the kitchen know that was not a problem. When I arrived at the restaurant and went to the host desk, there were three young female’s standing with an I pad talking. I told them I was there to pick up my online order, one of the girls tells me that “he will be right back”. I stood and waited for about five minutes but “he” never showed up to the host desk. I then interrupted the three young ladies conversation about two white men fighting on TikTok and ask them could they check to see if that was my food sitting on the shelf you could clearly see several orders, bagged up and ready. The same girl that told me “he would be right back” asked me “do you have to pay”? I informed her I paid online, that’s when one of the other girls checks and my food was indeed sitting on the shelf waiting to be picked up. I took my bag and left the restaurant. Once I returned home and opened the food to eat the fries were not Spencer’s gooey fires it was regular cheese fries and there was no salad they put fries instead, no ranch was given for the fries and no honey mustard was given with the wrap. When I called back to talk to a manager Tatiana told me that I could come back and pick up a new order. I told Tatiana that I was already back home and I should not have to waist my gas for her restaurant’s mess up. She then told me the only other thing she could do for me is I had until tomorrow to come and get my order replaced. I informed her that I have plans for tomorrow and would not be able to come. Tatiana then told me well I’m sorry there is nothing else I can do for you. I will never come back to this establishment and spend my money when your employees do not care about your guest or care if their orders...

Place looked clean, very homey feel to it. A little awkward though. It's a "sports" bar theme, with TV's, Photos and jerseys hanging up, cool. hen there is a race car in the back on the wall, ok, I suppose that is "sport" like, although not in line with what seems to be a football theme with the rest of the place, then there were 2 canoes hanging up, again, "sport" like, but felt out of place with all the football stuff. But the other confusing aspect is the inside is all wood, like a Northwoods Cabin. But it was still cozy, just a little confusing. Now the FOOD, it was DELICIOUS. We got Fried pickles and Bam Bam Shrimp. (I didn't eat the shrimp) but my hubby said it was one of the best shrimp apps he's had. Fried Pickles were great. I got a plain cheeseburger (firm believer, if the meat is good, you don't need all the other toppings) my Burger was done perfectly, was not dried out (med well) and the taste was actually ridiculously good for a "sports bar" burger. My hubby (on the recommendation of our host, Joseph and waiter Hosea) got the Black & White Chicken. He devoured it. And in the week since we've been home, he's made two or three comments about going back because he wants more Black & White Chicken.... (We live in MN by the way) He has also told our kids "if you are ever in Montgomery, go this place and get the Black & White Chicken". NOW, we've established the atmosphere is confusing, ut the food is REALLY REALLY GOOD.... The SERVICE. OMG the service. Joseph? was our host, polite, friendly, and very welcoming. Our waiter was Hosea. This young man was incredible. Easy going, polite, friendly, efficient, stopping by to check on us without being creepy or pushy. Smiling a lot. He was serious the best. My husband told me to make sure we gave him a good tip, but I already was on top of it.
