Very disappointed. I try to give a new place the benefit of the doubt and let the newness wear off while they fix their issues. However not sure if I even want to give them a chance after my initial visit.

Some reviews took away stars simply because it is drive thru or walk up only, which is stupid since no one complains that Sonics is exactly the same. No problem with it being a drive thru, but the layout of the drive thru is idiotic. They should put a menu earlier in the drive thru line so you can decide what to order quicker while you wait. Also, if you are in the outer lane, you have to cross in front of the path of the inner lane to pull up the to window, and it was dark so couldn't see it until I almost drove past it.

Ordered two meals and a cheesecake for dessert. Had to return the food because the burgers weren't fully cooked, lost my appetite after that. The cheesecake was just a blob, no form to it or crust. Lastly, there were more workers standing around then working, maybe they were receiving training but it is a bad look, especially when there line is wrapped around...

My sister wanted a cookout tray desperately after having a baby and my mom and I went to get it for her we repeatedly interrupted by the person taking our order with is that it for your order. We asked if they have a grilled chicken sandwich but the speaker cut out in the middle of her response so we asked again and with much attitude she responded with “we do have grilled chicken sandwich do you want one or not?” We asked her to repeat our order at the speaker which she ignored and then got an attitude about when we asked her to repeat the order at the window and she started repeating it to the computer screen making it impossible to hear her. When it was mentioned that we can’t hear her facing the screen instead of the window she said “it’s on the screen I have to read the screen”. The chocolate milkshake we ordered was poorly mixed with chocolate down the center and plain ice cream all around it. When we asked to have it corrected she snatched it re-mixed and shoved it back out the window upside down. I would not recommend this location to anyone, the customer service here...

This event happened on September 13, 2019 around 4:PM.

When I arrived, there was only one customer at the walk-up window but all of the parking spots near the front were taken--there are 6 or more non-handicapped spaces near the front--leading me to conclude that for some reason the employees are taking up the prime parking spots. This is not the first time I've noticed this. I frequently drive by this location and the lot is well populated yet there are few, if any, customers at the walk-up window.

Once I got to the window, I waited patiently for the employee to finish talking to the person whom I assumed was a customer but ultimately left without food or drink. When the "customer" did leave, the employee promptly closed the window in my face and left without a word.

It took a minute or more for a different employee to arrive and take my order, after which, things occurred more acceptably. The service was okay and the food was on par for this place which is ample and inexpensive and...

My kids wanted to check this place out and we heard many good things. They have an extensive menu with lots of options and I was pleasantly surprised by the shake options available. We decided on hamburgers and Cajun fries and a barbecue sandwich with Cajun fries and two shakes. The cost came out to about $10 per session on average and the food was good but not great. I asked for extra crispy fries and these were slightly underdone but I enjoyed the Cajun seasoning. I believe that this establishment was better than many fast food establishments but there was no indoor or outdoor seating so you literally just walk up or drive up to place your order and leave and with its location on Ann Street traffic made that task a little more interesting. Where they really shined was with their shakes. They were unfortunately out of the wafers used with the peach cobbler shakes but the cappuccino and peanut butter fudge shakes were delicious and I will definitely be back again 😁

Didn't know much about Cookout. It's not exactly new in Montgomery but I hadn't felt any urgency to try it. Well I was in the area so I gave it a spin and didn't know it was drive thru or walk up only but no dine in. That's ok I guess. The employee was pretty nice and patient as we navigated the big menu, he even made some recommendations. I tried a double burger and chicken quesadilla with Cajun fries. The wife got a jr burger and onion rings with cheese bites and an Oreo shake. Food was good and as I was forwarned that it wasn't trying to be fine dining I wasn't disappointed. It reminds me of good concession stand food. Worth an occasional drive up when you want a variety quick and cheap.

Today represents my 2nd day in a row having lunch at Cook Out. I must say, I’ve been mostly satisfied each time. The Cajun Grilled Chicken sandwich is delicious, and it definitely has a cooked out flavor. The Cajun Fries are the bomb too. If they could just have Chick-fil-a type customer service, I’d give them a 5 star rating. But to get a full lunch for just under $6 in this day and time, I can deal with mediocre customer service.
