When I arrived 15 mins after my order, at 6:00, they had never received our order due to software issues on their iPad. That’s totally understandable so I went ahead and placed my order for takeout right then. I waited around until 645 and throughout that time I watched the woman running the register apologize profusely to every single customer while the line manager came out and kept getting frustrated with the cashier; at one point, she put her hand in her face to get her to stop talking….. absolute disrespect to her employee who was clearly flustered and took a step back. When I decided it was enough and asked for a refund the line manager came out again to finally find the food ticket and proceeded to try to continue to get the food out as fast as possible. (This is at 1 hour after our original order. She ignored my request for a refund and walked off. I asked the cashier if she had the authority to issue a refund she did not and suggested I should talk to the line manager; she replied with “no its fine” with her back turned. At that point one of the cooks also came out and gave me reassurance that they were working on the order, which I could visibly see he had just put in the pan after she mentioned the order that was never started. I again had to state that I wanted a full refund and I had to say it loud enough for not only her to hear in the open kitchen, but all the customers. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, plenty of asian food...
Read moreWe are new the area and so are looking for a decent quick Chinese takeout restaurant. J's had a pretty good review score and despite some eyebrow raising negative reviews we gave it a try....yikes
Positives - Ordered our takeout at the counter and service was pleasant enough and the food was ready fairly quickly. Cost was also about to be expected.
We ordered food for (4) people. Two of the meals which had no sauce on them were fine according to those who ate them. Mine was not good. The Hunan sauce was think and quite sweet. I know this can vary from restaurant, I'm used to it but it was not good at all. The last meal for my son was terrible. The Pineapple chicken sauce was very thick and super sweet. He was unable to finish it. He also had crab Rangoons and he loves them, but these were sour - spoiled tasting and stale. He did not go into work today because of severe stomach issues.
Conclusion: Even though the service was fine and the store apparently clean and tidy, with a family member getting sick from terrible food (I saw a couple reviews noting similar experiences from some time ago) we will NOT be using this...
