Moore's Olde Tyme Barbeque Chicken & Seafood — Restaurant in Morehead City

I go in and order a 3 piece chicken and 2 sides. Some guy who looked like Little Jon, took my order. 10 minutes later he told me they only had 1 chicken leg. He opened up the container with my order in it and said “we only had 1 chicken leg but I made it up to you by giving you these 2 chicken tenders for the inconvenience, unless you want to wait”. I looked at him confused. I was thinking …it’s dinner time on a Thursday night… how do you not have more than a chicken leg at 5:30 (dinner time)? Foolishly, I said I would wait. The look he gave me was so odd… then he took the styrofoam tray from my hands…and screamed out to the other workers, who all standing around and were not busy … “He wants to wait”…then he screamed it again.. “He’s gonna wait”. And so I waited, but wanted to walk out. He came back 15 minutes later and handed me the styrofoam container back, but without the chicken tenders, lol? Why would you put food in my dinner that I didn’t ask for, show it to me, then remove it and make me wait 25 minutes? I was wondering how many times and how many different people went in and out of my dinner adding and removing food, adding the chicken and sides, then adding the tenders, the removing the tenders, then adding the rest of the chicken,… all this took like 25 minutes. The food tasted sad and the service made we regret going there. The place had 2 guests in it when I was there and it felt like being in an emergency room in a third world country, that served chicken. It felt like a scene from the move “Deliverance”. Not...

Bland, mediocre food and inadequate service. We tried calling to place an order for pickup - the line beeped as busy about a dozen times. We thought it might just be busy…. Nope. We drove there to find a handful of cars in the parking lot. Side portions are small - Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were some of the worst I’ve had. We were surprised to find meat in the green beans and baked beans (no mention of it in the menu) - so if you’re looking for a vegetarian side or something healthier, don’t bother with those. The green beans didn’t taste like green beans, either, which was unfortunate. We wanted chicken - menu says BBQ, baked, or fried. We were not offered the option, just served fried. And where was the BBQ sauce?! We had to put some from on our fridge on at home to make it more palatable. The hush puppies were the best part of the meal, but even then somewhat bland. First, food is good. Take out from call in order, not good at all. Called in to order one of the family packs, said I was 15 munutes away. The person taking order said it would be ready when I got there. When I got there I waited behind a couple of people before I could get to the register and pay. They said it would be a while because they were cooking the chicken. I watched as the people who ordered while I was waiting got their chicken while I still waited. I was told that they didn't start preparing it until after you paid so the call in didn't matter. 12 minutes after I paid, the order was ready. By this time it's more than 30 minutes since I placed the order on the phone. Then when I got home one of the sides was wrong.
