This location has been going downhill lately. I used to be a frequent visitor, but lately service has been more than lacking in a lot of areas. I visited earlier this week and took over 10 mins for the server to come greet us and take a cocktail order and that was after we saw she got menus and took an order at a table that sat down quite a few mins after us, which wasn't even that much of a deal but her slowww pace and comment upon coming back to us was not great at all. She said "oh yeah we got busy" however her pace of walking in general and doing anyt tasks for tables was at such a slow pace and not efficent. After ordering a round of wines she informed us that it would likely take awhile as the other bartender went on their break so their was only 1 bartender. I'm sorry, for most folks thats just TMI, but for others especially in the industry and Management in the service industry this just shows poor management. Why would you under any circumstance have your 2nd bartender on break at 6:45 pm at dinner!? Especially when you are on a night where wine is 1/2 off? I'm sorry but unless there was an extreme extenuating situation, I can't understand why they would have planned or rather NOT planned at all to have a bartender on break during the busiest hour of dinner service. All in all, we don't mind them being busy but the server should also seem visibly busy if that's the case, but walking and moving at a snail's speed and also not hitting all her tables at once... for instance we could see her taking a beverage reorder/refilling water at another, yet not touching other tables nearby in that process and/or pre-bussing plates off the tables she stopped at. Just all around not friendly enough for her snarky comments and also being that slow of a server, especially in the bar area. And on my most recent visit at the bartop, all was fine and by fine I mean I had ordered a glass of wine and a few mins later a late night happy hour mini pizza and after having a lengthy phone call with a friend, all the while observing other guests around me getting their food, I kind of wondered what happened to mine. I check the ticket and the Bartender did ring it in, so I know they had not forgotten however I noticed the ticket was printed at 10:55 pm... I waited a lil longer and finally got my mini pizza. This was at 11:40. I mean were talking 45 mins!? So, to which I did make a comment acknowledging it took quite awhile, something casual to the effect of " oh I was wondering what happened " and all she said was "oh yeah, it took a little longer than expected ". Which I felt was way too nonchalant for how long it had been no "I'm sorry" or any explanation kd what went wrong becuase clearly something did, which would have been much better than just saying it took a lil longer.... No. Thats more than than a little while longer...I would have appreciated someone just keeping me in the loop from the get go, and letting me know what was going on; Not for me to have to go out of my way to make a comment about it twice which is not common of me to do but the fact that no one was owing up to anything that would or could have went wrong was very frustrating. The manager nearby happend to hear me and told me they would take care of it which was not in any way what I wanted. She insisted, so I left the bartender $20. I had the 1/2 off mini pizza and a hhr glass of wine around $12 before tax. I sure hope they dont think giving me free food was my end goal, as I really would have just appreciated someone acknowledging the situation before me. Anyway besides their happy hour and daily specials, I can't see Bj's having much else to go off of to bring guests in, as based on their regular prices otherwise, the service all around from the host stand to the bar and servers in the dining room is simply not enough to retain guests long term. Being a former Bjs employee not sure what steps they took in other directions, But it's evident the Gold Standard has been a thing of the past. Disappointing on most levels coming from someone in...
Read moreDecided to go for pizookie deal yesterday. The wait wasn't too long for a Thursday at around 6. When we were taken to our table I noticed there was food bits on the booth seat as well as the crack, got grossed out, but decided to sit without a complaint anyway.
We started out our order with drinks and requested 2 appetizers(ahi poke and the avocado egg rolls) while we looked through the menu some more to make our final decision. Our waitress came out to check on us twice before we finally put in our order for entrées which were personal pizzas with house salad. Nothing too fancy or demanding, nor did we make any custom requests, just had to chose salad dressing(ranch and bleu cheese respectively). The salads were brought out by a different waitress/runner and she seemed bothered that we told her we didn't order the salad dressing that she brought. We even asked her to repeat what she had said just to be sure because it was in such a rush and mumbled. She rolled her eyes and walked away to speak to our waitress that was, at the time, taking an order at another table. They talked for a bit and gestured back to our table to a point where even the current party started to look at our table while they looked through the ipad together. She seemed really annoyed and handed over the salads to our waitress who then came over to us and asked if we are refusing to take them and are sending the salads back. I was confused and asked what happened because all we told her is that we hadn't ordered what she brought(sante fe salad). We didn't want to be difficult, so my husband decided to try the Sante fe dressing even though he wanted ranch. It took some time, but they brought out or pizzas, which were good, no complaints there.
We were almost done with our pizzas and decided to inquire about the appetizers that were never brought out. While we ate and talked ome more, I noticed two USED toothpicks on the table by the salt shakers that were not from us. Shortly thereafter our appetizers were brought to the table. The egg rolls were cold and all the avocado was brown, old looking. The ahi poke was mid quality fish and the avocado was ugly in that as well.
Now it has been a long while since I've been to BJs and I was excited to have their food again, but this experience has truly left a bad taste in my mouth. I even waited a day before posting to make sure I wasn't overreacting. Not impressed with the lack of cleanliness and the lack of customer service/professionalism, nor the lack of quality control(especially on the full price/non special menu items). Being in the service industry ourselves, we hate to be THOSE people and respect the hustle. Not sure if it's a management issue or just a one off day, but it was definitely disappointing.
**Of note, the seasonal drink, I believe boo-berry sour,...

Approximately March 2nd 2025:
Ladies restroom needs cleaning. The restroom vents were super dirty, the water nozzle for fires on ceiling had a long web swinging, the sinks were very dirty or rusted. I couldn't tell without touching the area. Edit: Zooming in it looks more like bacteria due to the marks that look like scratches going through it to the porcelain.
Someone had vomited in the restroom, and a person, I'm guessing to be the manager, was only holding the door open to the bathroom and telling an employee how to clean the floor with a paper towel. He just kept saying things like wipe over here, wipe over there and he did not help, he just held the door so no one would enter.
There was a very long line of ladies needing to use the toilet.
When we went in finally, the manager said the floor is wet be careful. Yes, it was super wet because they only used paper towels.
They never used a mop to clean it further.
There was still pretty thick stuff on the floor, not sure if it was residue from the vomit or because it wasn't cleaned properly. Either way, I don't see why the manager holding the door did not help clean, and why they did not use a hot mop with cleanser after getting the chunk's up.
I think our waitress had too many tables. She wasn't very attentive, but she was nice and had a good attitude.

The staff were very nice. I had a to-go order. Food tasted really good. I love BJs, but this place in Moreno Valley is not doing good in the maintenance/cleaning department.
The bathroom still had the same web dancing gracefully above my head. The sinks were not properly maintained, nor the light fixture.
I again took photos showing how part of the sink was cleaned, web still hanging as is the light. The photos are around 3 weeks apart
When I see such dust as shown on the vent system and hanging light fixture, unfortunately it makes me wonder about all the bacteria lurking in the bathroom and the vents.
I am surprized that basically nothing was fixed after I was reached out to by the restaurant from my previous post.
The food and employees did wonderful, they get 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Ladies bathroom - (negative)🌟 🌟
April 1st 2025:
Good job at cleaning the ladies bathroom. Finally got the web removed, cleaned sinks properly and fixed the hanging light.
Food was great and our waiter was fabulous.
I did notice that when using the toilet, if the roll on opposite side is low, one can actually see into the next stall thru the tissue dispenser. Could be embarrassing for person in the next stall. This is unintentional, on BJ's part, but should be fixed.
Hopefully the improvements are...
