This was the nearest place for my brother and I to see The Nice Guys; the ticket prices seemed promising however, it was a very brief and utterly dissatisfying visit. Upon the purchase of my tickets I was prompted by the booth girl that the audio in theater 3 which hosted my film was not properly synced. In addition, I was also let known during my purchase that If I was at all displeased with the botched audio I would be allowed a refund if I felt so inclined as to leave in the next 30 minutes. After 30 minutes I would not be qualified for the refund. "No, problem". Right? So my brother and I go inside, get our stubs, and head to our designated screen room. We were a little less than 30 minutes early to our showing and so upon our arrival we were a little confused to walk into a dark and dilapidated room of trash, popcorn, and abandoned cups strewn through the aisles and in every other seat row. My initial thoughts were that the cleaning crew had yet to do their sweep and that we should wait outside for a little just in case the staff comes through. Likewise, I decide that it be a good time to go to the bathroom before the film starts and so I go to the upstairs ladies room. That ladies room was an absolute nightmare, from the first pee covered stall, to the next pee covered stall, to the sticky urine soaked linoleum, to one of the staff members telling me to walk back out, it was disgusting. So,I decided to "hold it". I met back again with my brother not even 3 minutes after and decided to go back to our screen room which went untidied and was already playing trailers. The audio quality was just sad and frankly unacceptable. Not only was the audio not synced but there was obviously something wrong with the speakers as they crackled and popped with each piece of reverberation. My brother was the first to say we leave despite the fact that he wanted to see this movie, so I agreed got up and we walked out. Our whole visit lasted no more than 15 mintues so considering what I had been informed of earlier, I made sure to check back at the ticket booth to let them know that "we couldn't do it" and so I gave back my receipt and ticket stubs to the same booth girl who sold me the tickets. An exchange of words occurs exclusively in the booth and then I'm traded off to a booth guy who was not the booth girl who told me about the refund. Now I'm told that my tickets had already been ripped and thus I'm not entitled to a refund because we entered the theater. The best part is that this guy "saw us go in to the theater". Excellent, I'm glad you saw us because maybe someone as watchful should be keeping an eye on the sanitation and audio technic quality in this facility because that's what actually matters. But I digress, it came the time to where I would take back my tickets and receipt. I was worn down by the whole experience and yet I had driven all this way out here, so I promptly drove over to check out the nearby mall. Honestly, this theater could do a haunted house every Halloween because I basically paid $7 to wish that I never even came. Disgraceful. Edit: Seven dollars is nothing to me but for those who actually need to be more frugal or can only afford a discount theater deserve a better, dare I say: cleaner, movie...
Read moreThis Movie theatre is dependable for Kid-friendly, Affordable movies. The movie tickets were $2.50 per person. I saw the movie "Jungle Cruise" (2021).
The bathrooms were quite clean, the hand dryer was a no touch dryer while the door handle to exit the restroom was a "pull" handle. My company went to the restroom. He informed me the men's bathroom light was off and the urinals were dark. Unfortunately this did not create a comfortable experience for him. I recommend staff do walk throughs to check on the status of the restrooms every now and then.
I was sad to see this location no longer sells my highly favored Nathan's hot dogs. I hope the person in charge of the inventory of Food does a reevaluation of budget to make sure that good quality items are in stock for the concession stand.
They do offer good combination orders that allow you to order the same delicious goodies for cheaper in a bundle.
My friend and I ordered a Icee Coke, Fountain Drink, Large Popcorn that was split, Nacho Cheese Popcorn powder, Sour Licorice bites and nachos. The Nacho's were to expire in a month however I could smell the cooking oil it was cooked with was no longer good, rancid. My friend tossed the chips and was not able to enjoy the Nacho chips.
Some rows of seats are closed due to social distancing, as you walk into the theatre you notice every other row of seats is closed. There are signs as you entire the theatre room that strongly recommend that you sit 3 seats away from others.
My movie theater was quite empty there was a small party of 3 in the theater, making a total of 5 people watching the film.
The employees state masks are optional for guests who have been vaccinated. In this space, face masks are also encouraged, in general. While watching the film you're not expected to wear a mask as you are available to eat your snacks during the movie.
The movie was enjoyable and I was happy to come back to this theatre that I've been to as a child, after the...
Read moreI, and my family had a horrible experience with staff at Towngate location including staff members Raquel, Ilima & Josh, who would not reveal the manager. On Father's Day we came with replacement tickets ( I received from regency a week prior after theatre flooded, and we couldn't use previously purchased tickets.) I was told I can use them any day, and at any Regency Theatre. Long story shorter, we arrived to watch a movie, no snacks required. The guy who collects tickets before you go into your movie couldn't take our tickets and brought us to other staff at concession stand. We were required to stand in concession stand line where ticket & food transaction and preparation took place even though we were not getting snacks nor buying tickets. Her explanations was others in line may have pre tickets for movie. Thats exactly what we had, and now starts the second offensive after the flood situation. I stood there trying to explain til there was no longer a line, and we were late for the show we came to see. Even at that point, there was no, now we can help you, or let me see your ticket, She never even asked what movie we came to see. I tried to protest the treatment and our rights to no avail. All we received was rudeness and discrimination esp. since no one of my race worked there as far as I could see. We were asked to leave without any resolution. They called security, of which I welcomed along with my call to the police. The security agreed with us and gave us his badge # and info. I have gone to other theatres in the area since, like Harkins Theatre and paid even though I still have these Regency tickets I was denied usage of, and not given a refund. Still no resolution...
