Louisiana Seafood — Restaurant in Moreno Valley

Preface: I've been eating here since I was a kid. Even back when there was competition in town, there was no doubt about who had the best southern fried seafood around. I see other reviewers complaining about service. I been round long enough to feel the point, but again there is no other or better fried seafood spot that can beat Louisiana on deliciousness and consistency. Also, who ever said that restaurant employees should smile and dance or play into your ego to get your business? This is a food spot, so don't expect to have a deep, meaningful breakthrough while ordering a meal. Ok listen, I could sit here and tell you the food or service was better years ago, but what hasn't gotten more expensive and lost some quality over the past couple decades. Louisiana Seafood, (LSF) is still here and is still a staple for good food and culture in the city of MV.

Review: 5 stars cause they nail the food in a consistent way everytime. Not much variance in flavor or plate fill. Don't listen to the reviewers who have been here once and have no benchmark, but complain anyways. People who say it is hard to find don't realize that the city has grown around LSF. It's been there in the same spot forever. My one tip, don't park right in front of LSF. Park away and walk down because the Del Taco drive thru and parking lot bring madness in this area. If you have to park right in front of the building, do yourself a favor and back in to your spot so you can see what's happening when you pull out. This is good food and we should keep supporting LSF or we will be stuck with the trash shrimp Del Taco serves up across the way. I tried a couple of times, because I wanted to like the place and support black owned businesses. But can't do it. The few times I've been there the staff is super blah, or just flat out rude. There was a woman employee in there today instead of saying excuse me to my 10 year old daughter to ask her to allow a customer to get to the register (which are very close together) she just tapped on the counter and mumbled something low, like get back or something. It took everything in me not to flash on the chick, but I held it together because I just lost my grandmother yesterday and it was gonna be ugly had I went there. Secondly, my dad and I had just finished spending close to $50 bucks combined for lunch, and when I asked the dude there for a cocktail sauce for the 2 shrimp lunches I ordered, he tells me it cost .50 for a small little container?! I mean does cocktail sauce go on shrimp or not? And lastly the food is just not good. I come from LA where there is endless fish markets with bomb fish and shrimp and chicken, and this just ain't it. My pops and his girl didn't even like it, and I suggested it for their first time. Anyways. That was the last time. Y'all can have it, I'll be looking for something that's gonna be bomb, and at least have decent customer service for people who are patronizing with the establishment, cause this ain't it. 1...

Please avoid this business at all costs! Two days prior to my mother 75th birthday party, I placed an order for chicken and fish. I paid over $300 for the food and was assured by an employee that it would be ready.

When my husband went to pick it up on the day of the party it wasn’t ready; they hadn’t even started. It took the employees 10 minutes to find the order and another 45 minutes to prepare it. By the time I received it, I still had to drive to the venue.

Their delay caused the guest of honor and our other guests, menu of who travel from out of state to attend the celebration .

Everyone had to wait almost 1.5 hours, before they could even start eating!

Also, beware of the portion sizes. Their fillets we split in half and actually comparable in size 2 strips. Their chicken wings were actually drumettes and flats. The seasoning was nothing special, I’ve had better. I live out of state and only ordered from this establishment because a friend recommended their food and the prices were decent.

My dad contacted the owner 2 days later and requested a refund. He apologized then offered us a 12 piece dinner for our trouble.

When my my dad requested at least half of the price, he said a 12 piece dinner was the best he could do and he WOULD’T do anything else!

If I could give the establishment a negative one star...
