Card Addicts — Local services in Moreno Valley

Shop and Prices: Went in to check out some cards and just see the shop(I live about an hour away where there are no card shops). Was nice and clean in there. Great Yugioh singles selection (but I wish the booster box selection was better). I bought about 22 singles and some other aesthetic things like a playmat and card sleeves. Everything was WELL PRICED and they sell according to the current TCG prices, which for an in person shop, I was shocked.

Customer Service: The guy I talked to while looking through all the singles was great chatter, friendly, and he was very helpful; even when his expertise was in Pokémon. Additionally, I called a couple days later to see if the store would buy a Collectors rare Bonfire (150$ TCG right now). They couldn't take it but they offered to take my number down to share amongst their community in any case that someone wants to buy it. Really good people here if you couldn't tell, and I wouldn't spend my time writing a review if they weren't

📚 STORY TIME KIDS! 📚

I had walked in there to browse cheap pokemon card singles as I tend to with Local card shops( My technique to gaige card shops and prices🧐)

When I noticed the employee making a sale with an older gentleman ( in his 50s+ my guess ).

Well the customer was buying a box of Pokemon Blooming Waters ( msrp $60/mrkt $140-ish)

The conversation was about him buying,in order to Open the box when his grandkids are old enough and they can all enjoy it together and bond over the hobby 🥹

BUT HERE'S THE KICKER 😐 The employee starts spinning this sales pitch on how the box right now is "rare" and "hard to find" (rare NO hard to find yes) and that the "BEST" he can do is, and get this;

$300 DOLLARS!! (that is a scam!😤)

The employee then continues his pitch stating that " in several years it'll be worth $600+" and it's "an INVESTMENT" 😑

Unfortunately the retired grandfather purchased the Box at $300 and walked out...

I bought a $3 card and, surprise surprise was charged $8 😒

Edit 2: Other retailers still have Twilight Masquerade at msrp right now. Why support local when they sell ABOVE market, not at market. Not even close to market.

Above MSRP and above market on all sealed pokemon items. "But you don't have to wait for shipping" yeah no duh. It's a glorified scalper store front at the prices they have current sets. Avoid at all costs.

I get it, they have to make money but above msrp on currently available via distributors sets is scummy at best especially since they're charging above market.

Edit: Yeah sure buddy, you're selling everything above what scalpers resell for. I'm a collector. I don't resell anything. I just rip packs and get ETBs on a shelf for myself.

"OVER $200 for a Twilight Masquerade booster box" even after shipping scalpers sell for less than you, your store is part of the problem with the hobby and you have distribution.
