BEST VEGAN BURGER I’VE EVER HAD! 🍔🌱 During a recent trip to NorCal, I stumbled upon a fantastic vegan bar and grill called Craft Roots in Morgan Hill, CA. With a wide range of creative and diverse options on their menu, I was blown away by the quality of the food. I started with the buffalo cauliflower bites, which were perfectly crispy and complemented by a creamy cashew ranch. For my main dish, I ordered the buffalo ranch mushroom sandwich with sweet potato fries. The battered lion’s mane mushroom was incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor, making it one of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had. My friend opted for the classic American C.R. burger and was equally impressed with their choice. I highly recommend checking out this amazing vegan spot if you’re ever in the area. The food is simply outstanding! #veganfinds #veganburger #veganbar #vegangrill #lionmanemushroom #cauliflowerbites #buffaloburger #buffalocauliflower #veganrestaurant #veganfood #plantbased #norcalrestaurants #vegandinner #veganfoodreview #morganhillvegan #plantbasedrestaurant

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Craft Roots, and it was an absolute revelation! As someone who is mindful of both health and the environment, this vegan restaurant exceeded all expectations. The menu is incredibly thoughtful, offering a wide variety of plant-based dishes that are not only flavorful but packed with nutrition. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, lactose intolerant, or simply trying to reduce your meat consumption, there's something for everyone here. The restaurant clearly understands that more people are turning to plant-based diets for their health, the environment, and ethical reasons, and they make it easy—and enjoyable—to join that movement. The creativity in the kitchen is evident, from the vibrant salads to hearty mains, and the desserts are simply divine. I enjoyed the Loins Mane Asian-inspired salad that was light and airy and packed with flavor (if you prefer to be light on dressing just ask it on the side for better control). It was really big — after enjoying it I separated leftovers to keep crispy rice things fresh (several pictures attached). My husband loved his “chicken” lions mane burger! Beyond the food, the Craft Roots also highlights the positive impact of a plant-based lifestyle. Knowing that my meal was contributing to better health, lower environmental impact, and a more compassionate world made the experience even more fulfilling. If you’re looking to eat cleaner, live better, and be a part of something larger, I highly recommend checking out the Craft Roots! Whether you're vegan or simply curious about plant-based eating, this place will leave you inspired—and satisfied!

3.5 stars I've been recommended by a friend to come here. She raves about this place. My friend is vegan which is why we came here. We walked in, immediately a gentleman came and greeted us. They offered us an outside table but it was super cold. We sat at the bar so we wouldn't have to wait for a table, but once they had an opening, we immediately went to sit at the table. They gave us menus and brought our waters a few minutes later. We ordered our food and my friend's came out first. Why didn't they bring it all out together? She waited to eat until I got food. I ordered the appetizer Mac & cheese and she ordered a kid's Mac & cheese. Hers was in a white bowl and looked yummy. Mine came out in a skillet type with burnt cheese LOL. My Mac & cheese was not worth $15. Now, the bartender was cheerful and wonderful. That dry Mac & cheese made me thirsty. I was about to ask for more water, when my server finally showed up with more water. I can see why this place is popular since it's a bar and their cauliflower bites don’t taste like cauliflower. I paid almost $20 for a Mac & cheese that was dry and burnt.

UPDATE: 11-5-2020 So we went back a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing experience. The owner Justin is an awesome guy and was very helpful with explaining the types of food choices they offer. Again the wife and I aren't vegetarian but the Chili Burger I had and the pizza she had were excellent. The pumpkin seed chili really tasted like chili. The pizza crust and cashew cheese were very good as well.

As an unabashed carnivore, I can totally eat at Craft Roots and not feel like I am missing anything.

Their bar manager Nicholas is great as well. I challenged him to come up with a Prohibition type cocktail for me and even though his alcohol selection is somewhat limited due to some alcohols not being vegan, he made me a Gimlet that did indeed give the essence of a Prohibition drink. Kudos to him. If you aren't in the mood for vegetarian food, try stopping by for a drink. They have beer, cider and kombucha on tap as well as great cocktails.

So now I see why Craft Roots has so many 5-star ratings. The food, the drinks and the people that work there are all outstanding.

The wife and I are not vegetarians but we try to eat as healthy as possible and have been including some vegetarian options in our diet lately. Decided to give Craft Roots a shot last weekend for lunch. I called and asked a couple of questions before coming down as I was curious as to what their "cheeze" is made out of. I was told that it was made from Coconut and does indeed taste like cheese.

So we drove down and placed our order for 2 burgers. I got the Western BBQ burger, (BBQ sauce, crispy onions, pickles and American "cheeze") and asked for the BBQ on the side. The wife got the CR Burger, without cheeze. We both got salads instead of fries with vinagrette dressing. We ordered the food to go and got some drinks to have while we waited. Craft Roots features hard and regular Kombucha on tap as well as cider and many beers. They also have some pretty imaginative cocktails available. I think I'll try the Kombucha mule next time we visit.

The food took about 15 minutes and when we got home unfortunately we found that our orders had been messed up. Neither of our burgers had cheeze, (I was disappointed because I wanted to see what Coconut cheese tasted like), and neither of our salads had dressing on them. Also, my burger had the BBQ sauce on it instead of on the side. I'll give them a pass as I'm sure Covid has things pretty chaotic for any restaurant right now. But the burgers were indeed tasty and the employees were super friendly. The only knock I'll give Craft Roots is their pricing. $17 for a veggie burger is pretty steep in my opinion.

I'm sure we'll be back in the future. I'll probably just make sure to check my food before...
