So we went here for thr first time tonight. Ordered Pad Thai and per reading the menu, my understanding was that the Pad Thai came with Chicken, beef and pork and it says add prawns 3.00. So I assumed 3.00 more added prawns. Got a soup and the sweet potatoes. Got the order home and found only prawns. Called them and the first lady I spoke to said, ok on the ticket it says only prawns, which we found 4 shrimp size in the pad thai. She said ok the order must have been taken wrong, we misunderstood. So we decided I would go in the next day and try again. Then the lady who took my order got on the phone and said " oh the pad thai comes with only 1 meat." Thank you for your understanding. I got off the phone shocked ! I just paid 43.00 plus left a 5.00 tip for a simple to go order to get home and be disappointed and then told the waitress was correct by the waitress. So we went to eat the soup, my other half then promptly found a hair in. Sorry man! You lost us? And I didn't even try the soup! What a freakin RIP off!!!! At least the sweet potatoes were edible! So after finding the hair in my soup. I called and asked for the gentleman who took my payment. His name is Ray and he is the owner. I told him what happened. He lectured me about the cost of making the food and that for a replacement, I would need to drive back and take it back to him. Then he also lectured me on pad thai being an "or" item. Beef or chicken or pork or prawns, even though his menu said add prawns 3.00. I told Ray I felt that he was lecturing me and said " oh no! I haven't begun that yet." I politely advised him that I would not be returning to his restaurant and wished him well in the 43.00 of wasted food helping him. He promptly hung up on me. If you want customer service, DO NOT go to Ray's Thai...
Read moreI am a rabid Thai cuisine fan so when a business associate ask me to dinner to Morgan Hill at a Thai restaurant I quickly accepted. From the get go I was surprised, it's an old house painted red. While we wanted to sit inside, it was hot {inadequate air conditioning) and small/cramped. We sat outside and an elderly Caucasian man greeted us and started talking about menu items. He proceeded to talked up the food items and up-sell us on his expertise on Thai cuisine. I'm sorry, I love good customer service and a quick chat but his continued talking became quite annoying! I came here to enjoy a dinner and chat with a friend not have a long conversation with this elderly man who had no idea what he was talking about! He finally left to bug other customers (like a hard charging salesman). Food came and "Oh my Lord" here comes the elderly man again! With a big salesman smile , he tells us "This is how this is how food is served"! Please just leave us alone , I'm saying to myself!!! This is a restaurant not a used car lot! Well to make a long story short, the food is average to below average. Sorry to find out this nice little town of Morgan Hill only has one Thai restaurant. If there is any entrepreneur who wants to start an original tasting Thai restaurant then Morgan Hill is your Target. I don't know why this place get high marks the food in no way represents Thai cuisine, it maybe a notch over Thai mall food but not real Thai cooking. Do yourself a favor, avoid the hard selling elderly salesman and drive to San Jose or Santa Clara for real Thai restaurant. Added info, this place has very small portions, expensive with 14/15 years old teenage boys as waiters. Wow!!! This was dinner in...
Read moreI kept seeing and hearing about this place ever since we moved Morgan Hill. So we decided to take the leap and try this place out and boy was I pleased. I'll start out by saying that the staff was very friendly and welcoming and the place was extremely clean. We were sat promptly and they even turned the heater on for us outside even though we were the only people eating outside.
We ordered the Roti Penang, honey chicken, lobster and shrimp fried rice, Phad see eew with beef and we finished it off with a mango sticky rice in the shape of an endearing heart. I attached the photos of my food to this review but keep in mind I was so pleased and excited to try it I didn't get to get a picture of everything.
It was a great experience I actually was genuinely suprised by the different flavors in one single dish. You could tell that they put a lot of time into their dishes because everything had it's own very unique and deeply explosive flavor. It's not just a generic Thai food place to put it simply, it's rich and fresh transformed food.
At the end of our meal Randy and his wife ( the owners) came out to make sure that we enjoyed our food and to thank us for our business. To me this speaks volumes. Anytime you have an owner Coming by your table to make sure you're happy with the food and service always hits a homerun with me. It's people like this that keep their restaurants and businesses flourishing. He really put the cherry on the top for being so personable and made the experience that much greater. I will definitely be coming back to this place whether it's takeout or even just a romantic...
