This place used to be under a different name of some sort of Chinese buffet. We had stopped eating there because we didn’t like the food quality. The food quality now seems to be improved from before. I would rate the food quality now as the typical buffet, slightly better than some. However, I have a high standard for food quality and flavor, so to me it is still not 5star food quality. I was not disappointed but neither was I impressed. The atmosphere was much better than before due to the addition of new furnishings. Our waitress Selene was very friendly. She had a great personality. When this restaurant was under the old ownership we had decided to not return. After this visit under the new ownership with all the upgrades we decided this was again worth returning to periodically. The only complaint I have during this visit was that something seemed wrong within the ice cream cooler. The sherbet in the front of the cooler was nearly melted and did not look pleasant. I would recommend to the new owners to take more care in watching the appearance of ‘all’ the food at all times. Including the ice cream. But this could have easily been because of careless customers leaving the door open between use. Best wishes to the new owners and staff. We look forward to returning again finding even more...
Read moreI’m not sure how a buffet place could be worse than China King which was in this location previously, but Atlantic Country Buffet is somehow far worse. No AC in the building and it was smoldering hot. The food was bad. Real bad. Nothing had labels on it indicating what you were eating. It’s a weird mix of “soul food” and Chinese, and everything I tasted was bland or just plain gross. Even the hibachi bar is a downgrade, and I wasn’t near brave enough to try the sushi. We were probably there an hour and never once was offered a refill on our drinks. When they brought us our sweet teas initially, we had to ask for a cup of ice because they poured hot tea over barely any ice. The plates are near ground level by your feet, so people with long hair have to bend down at the buffet to pick up a plate. Good chance that their hair ends up in your food. The only people who will enjoy this place are obese people looking for quanity over quality. It’s just not a good restaurant and it was $50 dollars for 2 buffets and 2 teas. It honestly wasn’t worth even $20 for both. If you want “Chinese buffet” do yourself a favor and...
Read moreI took my 81 yr old mother in-law to Walmart to get her meds. She asked about get something to eat. So we stop by the Atlantic Country Buffet. It was after 8:30 so they told us the kitchen was closed and only the food that was already out was available. My Mother in-law is a slow eater. She got 2 plates of food since they might start taking things up. She is still eating it is 9:25 pm they closed at 9pm. She asked for a to go box so they works could clean up and go home. We were the only customer left. So she placed her food from her plates in the box so the could close. As we were leaving the manager asked if we paid for the to go box Since it was her food for the table I said yes. We left and the manigar sent one of they staff to our car and said the manager asked her to pay for the box of food she already paid for!! So we gave them box back and my mother in-law told her she would not be back because she already paid for it once. She already paid ~$35.00 for our two dinners. Makes no since they are going to be...
