THIS WAS MY INITIAL REVIEW : "Great food" (With A FIVE star score, 8 months ago)
UNTIL YESTERDAY: I pulled in around 2:40pm & and let them know it's going to be four trays- they said it was not TYPICAL to allow such a large order, HUH??! (NEW RULE???), I was rushed giving my order. Paid my bill and received my trays. Once home, my family & I began to eat our dinner. (I ordered 1- hotdog tray, (both ATW), onion rings, fries & tea- 1- double burger tray with let. Tom. Pickle. , Corndog and onion ring with coke, 1- double burger W/let. Tom. Pickles, double fries and coke, 1- chicken strip tray double Fries and cheerwine.
The strips were so hard due to being over cooked, fries soggy, lettuce was slimey on both burgers, buns on both burgers were wet on bottoms that they used a fork to try and eat their burgers after picking sour and slimey tomatoes and lettuce off. I ate one of the two hotdogs, fed my fries to my dog and we ended up tossing the bulk of the food...I saved my second hotdog. About 45 minutes ago I went to take my hotdog out of the container and heat it up , lucky for me it was upside down where I would've never known otherwise if it hadn't been upside down. A BIG BLACK SPIDER DRAWN UP UNDER MY BUN! I'm so disgusted and disappointed! I tried calling the cookouts number listed on their page to no avail ... I did find a corporate number. I called and the lady was apologetic and offered me food vouchers initially.... Uhm- NO! this spider was an act of deliberance in my opinion. The entire order was fouled up and the way these hotdog containers are stacked, there is no way a spider/bug of this size could flatten out to be living between styrofoam containers...if it were an ACCIDENT it would have been in a more likely spot on my hotdog and not HIDDEN underneath! we will NEVER RETURN! WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED IN A SPAN OF 8 MONTHS?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU FOUND AN INSECT OF ANY KIND JAMMED...
Read moreCook-Out is an awesome restaurant that gives the Young kids around here decent place to work so they can make a little money for themselves and be proud to have established themselves financially in the world. As far as their service and quality of their food goes it is excellent I really had any issue going there ever and I've lived very close to a cookout for almost seven or eight years now so rice how many times I've been to cookout and seven or eight years quite a few. Then there's the Milkshakes that they are well known for the milkshakes flavors. Basically you think of any kind of combination of any candy bar or normal milkshake flavor anything really if they will make it happened. Currently they're Rockin the eggnog milkshake for the holiday season. So yeah there's my review on cookout they do not have indoor seating just a couple benches outside and you order outside at a walk-up window there is minimal parking. so basically if you got a cookout you need to be taking your food elsewhere to eat it. A suggestion of where to possibly take that food would be right across the road to our local western Piedmont Community College they have a pond area as you pull down in the main entrance with some benches and picnic tables it's a nice place to sit and eat and check out the pond if the weather is good. Okay hope you find what you're looking for okay hope you find what you're looking for and grub to refuel your body and have a great day and a safe trip wherever...
Read moreCookout is a staple of everyday life for me as someone who works and goes to school full time and who also works late nights. I've been to every Cookout in a several county radius at least once and I can confidently say that this one is the best! I stop by regularly for lunch after school, and also for dinner when I have to work late, and the food is always fresh. Even the grilled chicken sandwiches are never dried out or old tasting which speaks volumes. I also deeply appreciate that this location serves fried okra. I love okra and most of the cookout locations near me don't. I actually live closer to the Shelby Cookout. I go to school and work near this location, but even when I'm leaving from home for a cookout run, I'll drive the few extra miles to go here instead because it's so much more consistent with quality (and did I mention okra?) Rarely, if ever, have I received an incorrect order here, and if I have it was something small like a missing condiment. The employees here go the extra mile to ensure accuracy and prompt service, and they're all very polite. Tonight I worked over two hours due to some pressing issues at work, managed to pull in 10 minutes before closing, and I STILL got fresh food and great service. To all the Morganton cookout employees: if you're reading this, thank you for being there for this hungry, tired girl no matter what time of day or night. Not all...
