El Portal Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Morganton

This has to be the worst place I have ever ate the worst customer service the worst waiters the manager was even rude and nasty .so we place our order and on one of our orders we ask for no tomato no guacamole We told them not once but 4 times no tomato no guacamole, Well they bring the plates out and it had the 2 main things that we asked not to have on it well let me remind you that this order was supposed to had sour cream with that also and it was not on it and we ask about it And I proceed to tell us that it was gonna charge us 3 extra dollars to add the sour cream back to the order that was supposed to ha it on it ...Well then I proceed to ask to speak to the manager and the guy that brought the sour cream out was the manager so I start telling him what all happened ..I told him about the lady trying to charges exr for something that was supposed to come on the plaint and then Also proceeded to tell him about my steak it took them less than 4 minutes to bring master take out and when I got it it was cold and let me also say when it 1st originally got brought out to me the plight was not know nothing so they bring my plight back out within just one minute and its steaming hot so I'm guessing they put it in the market so I started telling him about that and he just 1 to stand there argue with me and be rude and nasty so we got up and walked out I will never eat from...

Great place been going here for years before the new location. This location is very tight cramped and small for the amount of business they do. I think if expanded They Would see a bigger increase in business. Most staff is fluent in English and if they are nit they will nit talk they will get someone for you that does speak English for your request. Anyone who has not tried the queso which is a white cheese dip they are missing out. Once seated they bring chips and salsa which I may say is very delicious with salt and pepper added , up in recieving the chips request the queso and you will find paradise in a bite. For some it is hard to find something but if you would just taje time to read the menu and even ask questions there is no doubt that you will find something you will fall in love with like a school kid. # love the steak ranchero it is a 10oz t bone steak with a sauce on top of the steak served with rice and beans topped with queso. If never tried I would highly recommend this for which guy doesn't like steak. I always ask for a bowl of queso to pour all over the rice and beans. I'm a taco guy ! I eat Hispanic food at least once a week and have eaten at every Hispanic restaurant in Morganton and Hickory. If your from Morganton La Salsas , Habaneros , or Elpaso is your go to restaurants . Today is the first time I've been to El portal. I always start with tacos . If a restaurant makes great tacos everything else tends to be on par , and El portal is at the top of there Taco game ! They offer the normal Chicken(Tacos De Polo) , Steak (Tacos De Carne Asada) and Pork (Tacos De Carnitas ) Plus more traditional tacos that are not normally served in Burke County , like Chorizo and Steak (Tacos Toluca ) or Mexican Sausage and Potatoes ( Tacos De Chorizo y papa ) These were the best Tacos I've had in recent memory. They definitely didn't skimp on the meat , they were packed full and the vegetables were fresh and firm . My Wife got Pollo Loco and it was the best she has had . The chicken was seasoned to perfection and tasted great. I believe this will be our new go to restaurant . I hope everyone gives this...
