We are travelling to our house up in PA from FL, and were in sore need of a good breakfast. We had seen the Tudor's signs on the way through WV, and of course, the time wasn't right. But this time, it was 10am, and we were in Morgantown, WV. We walked in and were kindly reminded of face mask requirement, so we went to the car and grabbed them, still not used to Covid protocols. The gentleman at the front registers offered us paper menus, which was easier to read, as the morning sun was hitting the menu board, making it difficult to decipher. My husband ordered Joe's Gravy Platter, which was biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and fried apples. I ordered the Super Breakfast, which was one biscuit split in half, 2 eggs scrambled, crispy bacon, fried potatoes, gravy and fried apples. I was telling the gentleman at the register about a breakfast dish called a "Challange" that I used to get back in Naples FL, which was similar; (although I could only eat a Half-Challange), which was one biscuit split with cheese, 2 eggs scrambled on top, crispy bacon on top of that, hash browns on top of that, grits on top of that, and covered with gravy. I always covered that with hot sauce. The gentleman told me that they could re-create that dish for me in future. Awesome! My husband and I sat outside at the tables and ate our wonderful breakfasts. The biscuits were fluffy, the eggs were perfect, the bacon was perfectly crispy and flat, the potatoes were crispy outside and tender inside, and the gravy was seasoned just right. And, to top it off, they had packages of Texas Pete hot sauce, one of my favorites. After we ate our main course, I tasted the fried apples, which were sweet, cinnamony and delicious. We opted to take them with us to eat later. For all that food, it was under $16.00, and we left very happy and hoping to eat there again on our way back to FL. I absolutely recommend Tudor's Biscuit World, you cannot...
Read moreI frequent tutors often as a customer and as a delivery driver for GrubHub a lot of the employees in there I know in a first name basis and I always had a pretty positive experience until today when I dealt with the owner‘s wife. They have been having an ongoing issue all winter with her heat not working today has been the worst no heat and 0° weather last night their employees are completely covered from head to toe in winter gear to try and stay warm! There was a pregnant girl sitting in the back practically in tears and shaking she was so called a couple of the employees I spoke to did not wanna be there but are afraid to say something to the owner and I can see why when she came out to speak to me she was immediately aggressive nasty had an attitude and told me that if I didn’t like what was going on I can go elsewhere. I informed her that her employee should not be here working when you can see your breath inside the business she told me everybody wants to be working everybody wants jobs and I told her no ma’am they’re afraid to say something to you and I can see why you’re nasty and aggressive and as an owner to this business you immediately telling me I can go elsewhere shows you care nothing about your employees! I even spoke to her husband a few times with me being inside the facility and he said that it’s been an ongoing issue with their heat but his wife part owner told me that this was a one time thing goes to show that she’s very dishonest as well! I feel really bad for the employees there and it just goes to show when you try to stick up for the employees you get attacked by the owner shame on them! Goes to show you that money matters more...
Read moreEdit: Since posting the company as asked that I contact them through their website to rectify the complaint. This would be a valid response, if I hadn't already contacted them through their website regarding past service discrepancies only to receive no indication that they had even viewed my complaint, let alone any restitution. So that to me seems that they're more concerned about saving face and less so about providing quality service. Again, this applies to the Morgantown location and other locations may provide a greater level of service. As does the location in my hometown of Pineville. Those ladies are top notch.
That said, there is at least one worker at the Morgantown location who strives for excellence. I forget her name, but she's middle aged, and I think she only works there for extra work as someone has told me that she has a full time job at the hospital. Regardless, front of house service doesn't change what happens in the kitchen.
Pros: Great food, West Virginian establishment. Cons: (Morgantown location) Will likely sit in drive through for 30+ minutes on a weekend due to people ordering their entire family breakfast(why the restaurant won't tell them to pull up or come inside I have no idea, but it's the way Tudor's is). When you finally get your "Ron" and drive back across town to home, your food is cold, your sausage is burnt black, and the biscuit was too fresh to have been cooked completely through. So you choke down your doughy, stale sausage biscuit and claim you'll never visit Tudor's again. Oh and they close at 2pm so eating lunch or dinner there is pretty much out of...
