Updated review: They reduced the batter on the fish so it is much better. Still too thick for my taste but it is better. The food here is generally better than Stirling Tavern. They also dropped the charge for ice. The only problem is how close the tables are to each other and the bad bar design that has pinch points where it is impossible not to get bumped - I do not go to a restaurant to dine with complete strangers and that is the case with nearly every table here. Good lunch spot as it is quieter so less likely to have to dine with strangers on the next table. Original review: First visit here since the refurbishment and new management. The first impression is it is no longer a dive bar - it is now very bright and modern but that also means it is nothing like an old school Irish bar and the only thing that makes it seem Irish are a couple of menu items and a few decorations on the walls and ceiling. So on to the food. We went for lunch and ordered fish and chips, onion rings and a ham and cheese toastie. The batter on the fish and chips is just way too thick. The result is the outside is overcooked and the inside batter is pasty as it isn't fully cooked, the curry sauce was overly sweet but nicely spiced and the mushy peas were just ok. The onion rings were excellent - the same batter as the fish, but this time the correct amount so works very well. The ham and cheese toastie was very average. The fish and chips could really be excellent by reducing the batter on the fish, less sugar in the curry sauce and making the mushy peas taste like peas. I am hopeful they make these slight changes as coming from the UK these tweaks really would make it a legitimate menu item. The staff were incredibly friendly, but we did have periods with empty glasses while trying to get the attention of a server to take another drink order. On the subject of drinks, they charged $2 for 'rocks' (although ice is served for free with water so go figure), $1 for a mixer and $13 for vodka - we've had much better pours at many, many Morristown bars for $13, not the $16 charged here. There is an issue that I do not think they can easily fix - the bar while impressive, is just too large for the room. That means there just isn't enough space for patrons to easily navigate past people sitting at the bar - especially by the front entrance. I think the only way to fix it would be to install a new door at the very front and remove the wall that causes the very narrow space on the right of the current door. While we were there, a woman sitting in the narrow pinch point moved to avoid being bumped even though it was a relatively quiet lunch time - my wife was there last week on a Saturday at 10pm and she said it was ridiculous trying to get to the bar. I am giving an average rating from this visit but I absolutely will be back to try other menu items and hope the food improves. I would encourage you to visit to give the new menu a try. They do however seriously need to stop charging $2 for ice and $1 for a tiny splash of a mixer in a cocktail if they want us to use it as a bar...that is just price gouging without being transparent. Just call it a $16 cocktail up front without hidden 'extras' that every other bar includes.

Dublin Pub, located on Pine St just off South Ave and across the street from the MPAC, is a great place to get your Irish going. Walk through the front door and you are transported to an old Irish pub... complete with a wood ceiling beams, cozy booths and, of course, the required bar. There are three other rooms in either direction which offer additional seating but the bar area is where you want to be. The menu consists of just about everything you would expect from an Irish pub... including beef stew, Shepard pie, fish and chips and corned beef and cabbage. Most entrees are $20. The hamburgers are well known as really good and come with fries and coleslaw and go for around $15 after you add cheese etc. Sandwiches are available too. There are about 14 beers on tap including Smithwicks and Guinness. Beers run round $7 for a nice cold pint. Entertainment is sometimes provided. A nice Irish gentleman sang and played while we were there. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth a try if you are in Morristown and/or catching a show at MPAC. The service hours are not posted on their website... but chances are they will be open.

I felt like I stepped into a pub in Ireland. Food is professional Irish fair. Everything I tried was delicious down to the perfectly poured Pint of Guinness. I had a couple appetizers. Soft baked pretzels that were served with a warm Irish cheddar beer cheese dip. I could have ate a dozen of them. The Irish potato skins were big pieces of baked potato topped with tender corned beef and melted cheddar cheese with sour cream. The Irish spice bag chicken sandwich had crazy good flavor with crispy juicy chicken tenders , hot peppers , fried onion, “chip shop curry sauce”, on a big brioche bun and the Shepards pie was the best I’ve ever had. Juicy seasoned ground beef , carrots, onions, and peas topped with creamy Mashed potatoes. Great friendly service. Lots of room to sit for dinner or lunch and a big bar. Lots of drink options and authentic Irish pub decor.

Went here with a party of four including myself, to celebrate my birthday. Upon entering we were “greeted” with two tables joined together near the bar, of about ten people standing and staring at us. We asked ourselves why are they staring at us? “Did we enter in through the exit?” “should we not have our masks on?” “Did we do something wrong?” When a group of ten stare at you confrontationally upon entering an establishment for drinks, it is not a very warm welcome. One person from our party asked them, “is there a problem or reason you’re staring at us?” One gentleman responded “there’s no bar tender” , we responded back with “that’s no reason for all of you to stare at us..” An older lady of their party came real close to us, and asked if their was a problem. We responded with “there is no problem but there is also no reason to stare at us as we’re just trying to get a drink and celebrate.” We left the inside of the bar and sat outside in the mist because we didn’t want to celebrate next to that hostile group. It turns out that that group were the owners of the bar!!! What a surprising plot twist. Although I do not own a bar, I do know if a group came in to my bar, I wouldn’t stare them down as if they were doing something wrong, and if there was no hostess or bartender present to greet them, I as a owner would not only greet them but make them feel very welcome for entering my business. We decided to leave after this realization. Now to be fair, maybe they were having an off night? Or maybe they are always like that? I don’t know but what I do know is that I will not...

I was a fan of this place until yesterday. I follow Dublin Pub on Instagram and in the middle of the week saw they were having live music this weekend. Excited, I immediately called the restaurant to reserve a table for 8, the group I was planning my weekend with, and without a problem, whoever answered took my name and number and ensured me the reservation was set. Come yesterday, when I showed up a few minutes before my reservation time to "check in", I was told they've never made reservations for special weekends (St. Patrick's weekend). It was the way it was told that was shocking - by several older women, all rude, and essentially laughing and rolling their eyes at me. They asked who I made the reservation with and a said a male, the only thing I could think of as a descriptor, and this served as a greater form of amusement for their snarkiness. The only reason I am giving 1 star instead of 0 (if possible) is they reluctantly agreed they could fit my party in the tent out back. But, there was no way I was giving them my business after that, so I happily enjoyed the rest of my weekend elsewhere. It's a shame, because I previously thought the staff there was great. I, like many, don't have the time or patience to deal with inconsiderate people anymore who go out of their way to make you feel like an imbosil, especially when I did absolutely nothing wrong and whoever answered the phone earlier in the week was at...
