My favorite in Morristown! Mostly get the Nutella banana crepe! Will try their Eriterian food next - I believe they just recently started that Update 02Feb25 - Note - I know some of my friends thought that South Street Creamery SSC) is gone, but the good news is that although there is now a new owner, she plans to keep the old menu from SSC but add on to that, a solid Eriterian menu, as she is from Eriteria. Was there today n had injera with beef dinner n instead of the cabbage salad, they gave me roasted beets (to die for!) and some lentil (French green lentil?) Really good! Will definitely be back there for more!!
The new owner Amleset happened to be there n I had a nice long conversation with her - she is very sweet! She told me how she had started with the Eriterian part of the restaurant n about her passion for cooking, n also gave me a brief history lesson on Eriteria because I did not know much about it (I had thot that both Eriteria and Ethiopia were the same.....)
She also gave me a sampling of something she had just made then, chirro(??)...
She said she is going to expand on the Eriterian menu - which I told her would be awesome, especially for folks like me who like to try any different kind of ethnic food.
They are currently in the process of decorating the place even more, to give it a more Eriterian ambience...so I'm sure when I go there next, it will look even better! Can't wait!!!
Lastly, it will be helpful to call in advance, because for the Eriterian menu, the owner currently is the only one doing it, so if you are say like a party of 4 and more, it would be a bit more challenging for her, so better to call before u pop...
Read moreThe South Street Creamery—or, as most people in Morristown refer to it, simply, The Creamery—is a very good option for lunch or dessert. I usually get a margarita pizzette for lunch and a special, home-made flavour of ice cream called Grandma’s Kitchen for dessert. Grandma’s Kitchen is a flavour with a vanilla base, caramel, edible, raw cookie dough, and small chocolate chips. I often get a Grandma’s Kitchen milkshake instead of traditional ice cream. All of these options are delicious and usually an amount of food which fits my appetite. Crêpes here are also delicious!
TIP: Lunch goes from 11am to 3pm here and can be very crowded, so go early or come here just for dessert. You can eat outside on the benches if the weather is nice.

Read moreI love the surprising combination of Eritrean food and classic American treats! When you love Ethiopian/Eritrean food, but you have a picky kid, there is no better spot to dine. My son was happy with his mac & cheese and ready to finish every last bite so he could have some ice cream.
Whenever I spot goat on a menu, I am there! I didn't need any coaxing to pretty much lick the plate clean. The owner was so kind and gave me extra injera - though my mom can confirm that I had already eaten more than my fair share. This was a perfectly prepared East African meal. I felt like I was being welcomed to a home table. The injera was made only with teff - which means it is gluten free and super nutritious.
Unexpected combinations of food are what makes life worth living. If you have a chance to eat...
