My father and I visited this place today while waiting for my Ma to get out of surgery. Our server was Alex and both they and the host (I don’t remember getting their name) were very attentive to us! They brought us complimentary pieces of bruschetta which had bright, acidic flavour and sat on perfectly crisped bread. My dad started with the shrimp bisque (special today), really liked how creamy it was and the size of the shrimp was huge! I had the Harvest Salad — great! BUT I ALSO ORDERED THE SIDE OF PEA PARMIGIANA RISOTTO and oh. my. flipping. god. It was rich and creamy and beautifully seasoned with perfect peas. The rice was cooked exceptionally well! Great portion size for a side but even as a main, I have a huge appetite and was not disappointed! Adorable mini cookies brought with the check. Great meal, a bit pricey for lunch ($75 for soup, risotto, two salads, sparkling water, and an iced tea) but I would easily come here again for the risotto alone!

Wife and i stopped in for a quick lunch. First time (and certainly not last) here. Cozy seating in and out with clear bubbles (check them out). Place is not HUGE and i anticipate that weekends it gets packed despite plenty of options in morristown. Staff is super friendly. We were offered specials and my wife went for mozzarella/burato special (and loved it). Mushroom soup was also a hit with her. Shrimp Caesar salad looked and tasted great!!! I went their popular option - shredded rib sandwich. It was still smoking (check the video) when service with tasty french fries. Now, i will say, next time here i will probably order something else as too much bread for me (not a big bread eater) and didnt love the flavor, but by no means it was bad… just not my favorite. Overall - solid 5 star Parking maybe tricky on a friday night so if you have reservations - plan agead

I first came to this place to celebrate the birthdays of my fellows cohorts and future slaves. Food was delightful from appetizers to desserts and although we had to dine inside an outdoors bubble due to covid, the environment was surprisingly plesant and the staff were friendly. The restrooms being a floor underground was a slight inconvenience since you have to struggle through a horde of undead tp get to it, nevertheless the bathroom attendant was nice enough to offer a massage WHILE I was doing my business, to which I agreed. Good place to have... well any kind of food and/or adventure. If you visit this place don't join their guild since they don't "slaughter orcs and imps" if you know what I mean 😬

I have a friend out in NJ. I'm from NYC so I drove out to her to catch up. We choose this spot because they had enclosed igloos for outdoor dining. I'm always a little skeptical of igloos and outdoor heating elements but to my surprise their igloos were actually warm! So warm in fact that when the sun showed face for a few minutes we felt baked and had to open the zipper door for a minute. You could've dined inside. At 11:30 am we were pretty much the first in the building.

Anyways, they had some really good sounding specials. Typically I don't pay attention to the specials because I wonder whether or not restaurants are just trying to get rid of ingredients but Bistro 46 had some really creative twists on standard fare. They had a shrimp bisque that sounded great by description and actually tasted great when we got it. It's the perfect thing to warm you up on a cold winter day. Baked bread was provided on the side and then we were brought some Bruschetta, compliments of the chef.

We followed that up by trying their huge empanada. Everyone raves about it for good reason. Order one to split in case you don't want to be too stuffed for your entrée. Our entrees included their chicken sandwich and the fettucine which was really rich! Our server Adolpho was ready with extra cheese and pepper for me. My companion saw how cheesy the fettucine was and wondered aloud why I wanted more cheese. I told her (and Adolpho) that I was starting a diet and exercise regimen tomorrow, so that was my last hurrah.

Adolpho would remember this later, making sure to suggest dessert since I was going to "fitness jail" the next day. I asked him why he was trying to sabotage me. His answer was that he was going to let me have fun today but report me to my companion if he saw me at the Bistro tomorrow. The exchange resulted in our selection of the White Chocolate Salted Caramel Cheesecake Chefs Kiss... Touché Adolpho, Touché lol.

Bottom line: This is a cute little spot well worth the trip across three NYC boroughs and a bridge to NJ. Just note that they don't have a...

Tried here because thought the overall rating was an indication of the food...but in reality it's not.

We eat out a fair amount but this experience was very disappointing and hopefully this review will shed some light on a an expensive but average, at best, restaurant.

4 meals and 1 appetizer were ordered...each rating below. #1 - Calamari...the sauce was good but the calamari were soggy and listless, rating 1/5 #2 - kids grilled cheese with fries... for $15 I was hoping it would be ok but although the fries were cooked to perfect crunchiness they were plain and unseasoned, meaning tasteless. The grilled cheese was equally unimpressive on unbuttered bread, overall rating 1/5. #3 - chicken sorrentino...I suppose this is how it's supposed to be prepared, as a sloppy mess slathered in cheese, but 1 bite was enough. If this is your thing then great but for us, rating 1/5. #4 - filet mignon. This was the best meal, although the meat didnt have any seasoning it was cooked to order with delicious mashed potatoes. Other than the string beans soggy and slathered in some garlic buttery flavor this plate was good, rating 3/5. #5 - short ribs was ok but again no seasoning at all on the meat and mostly dry, so the sauce helped. Same mashed potatoes as the steak plate and they were very good, overall rating 3/5.

I like supporting local restaurants but this was disappointing to say the least. Maybe at half the price the expectations of a good meal would be removed but with the mashed potatoes ad the best thing served at dinner, Bistro 46 is a far fry from anything memorable. Sorry for the harsh review but we don't agree at all with the 4/5 reviews from others and felt a responsibility to warn or temper the expectations of others.

Hopefully the kitchen can up their game because the location provides a lot of...

Food was very good. I had the eggplant as app. Small and perfect for two people to share. For dinner I had the salmon with sauce on the side ( it’s cream based so I didn’t eat it) . It was a nice 6oz portion cooked very well. Spinach was delicious and roasted potatoes. It was simple but well done.

Dessert was yummy. I had their pumpkin tarufo. Creamy pumpkin ice cream with pistachios and chocolate. If you like pumpkin mocha you will love this.

Service was great. Our server was attentive and accommodating and came over to check and fill water at various times.

Thank you for soft surfaces. Atmosphere was loud but great for all people even me with my hearing impairment. I was comfortable because they had soft surfaces like linens to “drink” up the sound. Please keep them forever.

Note for owner

Two annoyances.

  1. $33 fee for using a credit card on our bill. This is not nice. It should be mentioned when making reservations, on your menu and on your website. I get you charge a fee but that’s a lot for a small business to absorb. I would have brought cash or ran across the street to the ATM had I known.

  2. I was uncomfortable with the bathroom. It is through several doors, was down two long flights of stairs that were creepy, and dirty. A lot in heels. Tp all over floor and out of soap. The door says “private residence” and packages at the entrance. This should be adjusted with better way finding to and from...
