My wife and I heard good things about Lee’s China Restaurant in Mount Pleasant TX. We liked the thought of a sit down, no buffet place. Outside it looked like only takeout due to COVID. We were ready to leave when owner came out with some guests and told us they were open for sit down. Wonder if they have lost other customers that way. Just a simple sign would make the difference to say sit down available.
The hour and sour soup was delicious as were the fried egg rolls.
However, the Kung Pao chicken my wife ordered had ingredients in it that she was unfamiliar with, including a red sauce. We reported it to server AND owner. Like other reviewers’ experiences, we were told it was different. Obviously, she noticed that! No offer to fix it, replace it, or take it off our check. First time that’s happened to me and I’m not a chronic food complainer.
My orange beef was also different and yet good. The fried rice came late after the meal had been served and it looked like untried rice with specks of shrimp in it—not at all like fried rice I’ve had everywhere else. Guess that’s another “we do it different here.”
Eat there at your own risk. I’ve shared my story for your consideration.
We were looking for a great go to Chinese restaurant. First impression was not favorable. Check with your Las Vegas bookmaker for the odds we will return to Lee’s.

Read moreI rarely write reviews but tonight is different. This needs to be shared! My husband and I ordered from here 2 weeks ago. We usually eat in the restaurant, but decided to try takeout. BAD IDEA!! When we got home with our order, the lees fried rice had no veggies except an ENTIRE can of diced carrots. The eggdrop soup was good but the fried noodles were burnt. We decided to try again tonight as we have eaten here for years and have always been very pleased. When my husband arrived to pick up the order, they claimed no one had called in an order! He asked them to go ahead and make it and he would wait on it and they REFUSED to do so stating they had to "find" the other order before starting a new one. Due to bad weather there were very few patrons in the restaurant. After 15 min of waiting, he left with NO food as they were still trying to "find the original order". Unacceptable. We will...
Read moreI have been eating at this restaurant for 17 of the 19 years I have lived in East Texas. The food has consistently been supoerior Chinese food. The service is always excellent but I am particularly partial to Julia, who has been there I believe as long as I've been going. Price are extremely reasonable, especially their lunch specials. I must comnent on a previous review. This reviewer stated that Lee's food was not Chinese food. I STRONGLY disagree. Myself and my family were very good friends with s chinese family who immigrated to America. They opened their own restaurant. I watched food preparation on many occaisons and ste even more. Lee's Chinese food is the closest thing to the real deal I've eaten since moving...
