Updated: 10/18/20 So again I’m no local. I am just passing by. Being here for business and finding this location really late in my stay, I truely wish there was one in Virginia. The food here is just out of this world amazing. I could go on and on about how delicious everything has been during my several visits. The drinks are extremely tasty. They have a large selection of tequilas and many other liquors. They have my favor whiskey Jamison and I not once ordered it. Louis and Dante were always extremely helpful with making my food selections and mixing up some most tasty drinks. From my understanding Abraham is the master chief in this equation who without a doubt keep customers returning with those mouth watering dishes. There was not a single item of food I did not adore.
KUDOS Abraham, Louis, and Dante you gentlemen have made my stay in Mount Pleasant very PLEASANT.
Original Post 10/08/20 I really loved the atmosphere of this place. They have a large selection of liquors and several nice beers on draft. MODELO! The bar tender was Louis. He was extremely busy this evening and we kinda had a bumpy start but he got me square in the long run. Thank you Louis for being extremely polite, attentive and professional during my first experience. The Cazuelon was such an amazing value! It was so much food and definitely way more than I expected. The food came out very quickly too which was nice. After having several margaritas and a beer I was hungry! With that being said they have quite an extensive margarita menu and it was nice to have a selection. I’d also like to give credit to the heavy set woman cleaning tables and dropping off chips. She was very fast and settled me in very quickly. I greatly appreciate you ma’am. Over all I had a very pleasurable experience. In all honestly I felt this business is way under staffed and spread alittle thin. I had an issue with service and was going to bomb this review but they made things right and I can appreciate this one hundred percent. However maybe some other customers will not appreciate the efforts and some hiring or scheduling changes should take place. It was great experience and I will return....

SERVICE: The service was AMAZING--friendly, impossibly fast, and checking on us constantly (not just "our" server, but all of them: bringing refills, clearing plates, asking how it was and if we needed anything, etc). Our fajitas were missing an important ingredient, which was brought out immediately when we notified our server.
FOOD: Most of the food was delicious & fresh, and all was served in large quantities. We started with queso, which was fantastic, and street corn, which although not my favorite variety of corn on the cob (large kernals), had great flavor--very heavy on the lime, which we loved.
My husband and I each ordered a dinner entree: single-serving fajitas tropicales and cazuelon, and we ended up taking 95% of the fajitas home for leftovers as the cazuelon was big enough for us and our toddler to share and be fully satisfied. We felt that the cazuelon could've had more seasoning/flavor, but the ingredients worked well together. We tried a bite of the fajitas for taste and they were perfectly seasoned. We wanted to keep enjoying them but were too full. But yay for leftovers!
On a return visit, my mom ordered a seafood burrito and the scallops were rubbery and had a bad taste. But everything else on the table was great.
MENU: This menu had small print front and back, so TONS of choices. There's something for everyone, including vegetarian and lighter fare options, and everything from the expected TexMex offerings to actual traditional Mexican dishes. We were so excited to see nopales on the menu in several dishes, as it's one of our favorites and not every Mexican restaurant has them.
The drink menu has unique and tasty combinations. My husband and I both had prickly pear margaritas and they were incredible; on the smaller side, but delicious. I look forward to trying more in the future.
I'd recommend San Miguel to anyone who is a fan of traditional Mexican/TexMex food but wants to try...
Read moreHonestly the experience was so bad that we left laughing because what else could we do?
We were seated outside during a crazy wind storm which was immediately not ideal. The patio was large and the seating area looked nice with new plants.
After 10 minutes our waiter finally arrived to take out drink orders only... Another 5 minutes and we got our waters where we were allowed to order our food. We waited another 10 or so minutes for our margaritas. In all this time, people at tables around us were flagging down anyone they could see to get more water or their checks because no wait staff ever came outside.
My margarita had literally no tequila in it. I'm convinced they put a shot of lime juice in it instead. It was like sipping on a lime. I couldn't even drink it.
My nachos when they finally arrived had clearly been sitting there a while and they were disappointing to say the least.
Chips had blown into our drinks from a crazy gust of wind and we asked the waiter if we could have new waters because of this (he saw us trying to pick chips out of the margaritas, but we didn't want to drink the lime juice anyway) He returned with our original glasses, chips still included in the bottom. It was hilarious, but sir I'm not drinking the crunchy water.
He didn't offer to replace them after we commented only laughed and walked away.
We like many before us, had to flag down some random server to get our check....
