La Terraza Taqueria — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

What a gem. We drove through to Vancouver BC from Seattle on 4/1/25. We got out of Seattle and off of the freeway to avoid the chain nonsense that occupies each and every freeway exit in America. This place was both unexpected and just a FIND.

The Vampiro tacos were recommended and excellent. A touch on the greasy side, but given the restaurant itself I was not surprised. The carnitas tacos were just fine, but in comparison to the Vampiros, they were a touch bland. And the torta ahogada was great. Legit ahogada. And tasty.

Great food!! Service was as expected. In a grocery store that leaves a bit to be desired, but to go through the store to this amazing food is worth it!!

Carne Asada tacos had really good flavor and not a ton of gristle, nothing worse than paying good money for tacos and then having to toss half the meat. Green and Red sauce both reminded me of home! Really fresh! Did not have that sat around in plastic flavor at all! Looks fantastic. Love all the onions. Howevveeerrr, the carne asada is DRY and flavorless, the carnita meat is not dry but absolutely flavorless. The birria is okay. A bit flavorless too somehow? But it looks beautiful. I like the blackened edges. I also tried rice and beans that were very delicious. Might come back for birria and/or rice and beans because it’s close to my work and decent price but I usually judge a mexican eatery based on carne asada and carnita because those are the most...
