I think I fall among the rare minority who aren’t a huge fan of this pizza. It could be because their vegetarian options are simply not as good as their meat ones. But I’ve had vegetarian deep dish pizzas in other places which were just marvelous. Allow me to elaborate: I got the deep dish Aphrodite which comes with cherry tomatoes and basil. The size of the large pizza is good enough for four hungry people. The pizza was fresh and warm and served with a special tomato sauce. All good. My issue was with the fact that the amount of cheese seemed lacking - especially considering that the pizza was deep dish. The height of the pizza attested to that. It was simply not like the traditional deep dish pizza but was some sort of combination between a thin crust and deep dish. This impacted the entire taste. It was well made otherwise but this skimpiness in cheese impacted the overall flavour and experience. I did like the garlic bread which looked like a mini pizza itself and was light and airy. I also wish they had given some additional cheese to sprinkle on top. The place is not halal but their vegetarian options are interesting.

Let me start off by saying that I was born and raised in Chicago and moved to the Bay Area in 2021, so I know Chicago style deep dish. I have learned to lower or have no expectations of “Chicago inspired” deep dish here because I’m always extremely disappointed in the options available. On to the pizza at Blue Line. We did half Chicago chop and half meatball. The meatball was okay but I felt the toppings were few. Good Chicago deep dish has layers of toppings. Every topping is in each bite. The Chicago chop was inedible. It was extremely salty and I couldn’t get through one slice of it. The crust is also extremely important. I felt the cornmeal crust was dry and crumbly. I’m not sure if it was just this location, but I honestly won’t visit another Blue Line Pizza. I guess I will continue on my search for the best Chicago style deep dish in the Bay Area!

Came here on a Friday evening with a couple of others and man was it busy! Well not just Blue Line but the entirety of the popular Castro St. Wait time wasn't too bad - we opted for dine in but there's plenty of outdoor seating (which would be preferred if there wasn't a 30 min wait). We got the large blue line pizza and customized half of it for the meat eaters. Each of us just got through a couple of slices, it's that filling and that good! There were 3 slices to take home, which shows how deep these are. Super cheesy and saucy and the crust was on point as well. Came out to ~$36 so it wasn't too bad for what we got. I'd recommend blue line if you need a good deep dish.

Not good! We waited forever for our order. My 2 year old granddaughter was with us on mothers day so we immediately ordered her a kids meal so that she could be served as we took our time...big mistake! The server later said the order was dropped. I watched while a neighboring table ordered 2 pizzas, consumed their meal, and requested to go boxes for left overs before my already anxious and fussy baby got her kids meal and we got our pizzas! As a matter of fact, the service was so poor and unattentive that we had to bring to their attention we havent been served, where is our food? After some long delays we were served 2 messy pizzas that were terrible! Obviously thrown together and improperly cooked. We had to then ask for a second round of beverages because we had all consumed ours during the long wait. I also noticed as I sat there, and sat there, that the restaurant is NOT CLEAN! The thing is we were a 4 top with a highchair and a 2 year old inside the restaurant!!! How could you miss us blue line? You dont even have that many tables inside! Maybe you need to turn up the lights....oh thats right, then you would expose your greasy table tops, nasty floors, and filthy eating utensils! As an offer of apology the staff informed us when we asked for the bill that they would wave the cost of the kids meal.....Whoopi! Thats it? Wow! Thanks for ruining my mothers day blue line! Pizza is just to competitive, and restaurants are to plentiful on Castro St. for this nonsense! Save your money and time with your family and friends for another restaurant cuz this place sucks! You failed blue line! That 1 star is a...

“Lack of taste, service and filled with rudeness ❌❌❌”

If you have a chance to visit another pizza place, please do that.

We went there yesterday for an occasion and this was the worst and only bad thing happened yesterday.

We ordered a grandma style pizza. The server didn’t mention that it comes in just one size so we thought we were ordering the small size. The pizza didn’t felt like pizza at all, in-fact it was garlic bread with some toppings on it. Between this there were no servers attending the customers sitting outside so we had to wait 7-8 minutes to get the bill after completing our food. When the bill came the amount was way too much and at that time we were told that grandma pizza just comes in one size. Politely the 1st server adjusted the bill for us.

Now here is the bad part - when we went inside to pay the bill, the 2nd server started to “instruct us and reduly tell us that grandma pizza comes just in one size and make sure this does not happen again”. We asked is it mentioned in the menu and they said yes. But I don’t see this on the menu.

As we did not wanted to ruin our night more, we paid and left. Not I feel bad to even pay a tip

This is a NO GO place. NO TIP place. But yes you will get a lot of rudeness and...
