I just returned home from Cole's where I had intended to watch the Thursday night game but after spending the better part of about 1 1/2 hours there I can honestly say that never in my entire 22 years of living in this area have I ever felt less welcomed somewhere. I walked in at approx. 4:15 there was about 3 occupied tables and another 4 people at the bar, there were 2 people working the bar, a male and a female, I decided to sit at the bar, The male walked past me several times never acknowledged me and then started a conversation with a woman who I recognized from their website as being one of the owners after about 12 minutes the female asked me if I wanted something even though she had bypassed me and asked other people about refills first. I ordered an old fashioned and asked for a menu, I got my drink but never got a menu, the drink was drinkable but I wouldn't have ordered another one at this point another gentleman walked in and sat right next to me, the male bartender who had ignored me walked up to him and was very cordial, he introduced himself and shook hi hand but still never acknowledged me, the person who made my drink said she was leaving so I cashed her out and finished my drink, another woman showed up to assist with working the bar so I asked her for a menu and she provided one she also checked on me a couple of time. when I finished my drink i put the glass on the counter where everyone could see it, the male bartender walked past a couple of time and once again never said a word to me but did check on the guy next to me and got him a beer refill. the female asked me if I wanted to order food and by this time I had, had enough and told her that was ok I was going to head out. I got up and walked past the male bartender ( who was checking tables) he looked right past me and once again never said a thing. I know the place is new but sometimes somethings are glaringly obvious and believe me this guy had to go out of his way to ignore me. When I heard him talking to the guy sitting next to me I think he said his name was Hunter. So at this point this place is a no go for me, maybe you experience will...
Read moreI'm not sure how anyone could compare Cole's to the TV show Cheers? The last "tavern" or "dive bar" we had in Mukilteo was Cheers Too, before DK ruined that. If you wanted to compare any Bar/Restaurant that has ever held a candle to the TV show Cheers, it would have been C2. Probably because it was a TV show , with great actors? Spike was the most comparable server to Carla that I have ever seen.
There is no expansive bar top, and not one employee even recognized that we walked in the door. I researched Cole's and was excited to have a fun place to go to in Mukilteo again. They advertise 11am-2am 365, pool, darts, games and big screens for sports.
Okay, they have two pool tables, but no where to set your food or drinks unless you have a table. They don't have enough space for tables since they have two pool tables. Same with the single dart board and pop a shot. Not to mention, the only dart board was right through the door as you walked in and it wasn't turned on if it was even plugged in?
If the parking lot is full, don't bother finding somewhere close to park, unless you are comfortable in confined spaces. If the Seahawks make it into the playoffs, be there before they open, if that is where you want to watch it. It's to small, the layout doesn't flow and isn't inviting.
I may give Coles another chance if they figure out how to use the limited space they have or if just want to try their food.
My review stems from the frustration of the lack of having any real tavern/sports bar in Mukilteo for decades. The excitement of possibly having one again is a pipe dream. The city has always pushed out any rowdy, fun establishment.
Lol! if they serve patrons more than one cocktail, there will be parking lot accidents. That will be a problem for the city and that's that.
Since I forgot Kostas was even there, a long time ago. As I'm sure everyone else in Mukilteo did. At least Cole's is reminding locals that there is a building between BB...
Read moreA great start for this new watering hole in Mukilteo! Happened in on opening day and have been back for a Seahawks game. TV's are well set up to watch multiple games; as you would expect from a sports bar, but sadly isnt always the case. Cocktails were solid; well poured and taste was as they should-good pour. Beer was cold from the tap into a chilled glass. So far have just had the pizza, cheese curds, and ceasar salad but have seen the other food and it all looks tasty. Bonus that thy have pool tables (hard to find now days); heading there Saturday to try them out with neighbors. Clean and modern atmosphere flows well; even when packed full of people. The decore they chose for the mens room is hillarious! Service was good the first night and great the second time for the Hawks game; I didnt get her name, but she had the whole front of house herself and provided table service to everyone. She was a rockstar; no having to order at the bar. The kitchen delivered the food derectly, which was smart teamwork to help make sure everyone got the best service. I look forward to watching this place continue to provide great service and what additions they come up with for the menu. For now, I have more eats to try...
