Got told when we got here it would be a 20 minute wait well 20 minutes turned into an hour. Finally got seated told the kitchen was backed up not many tables in house at all. Took another half hour before they took our food order. When the food finally came out the steaks were cooked wrong two people ordered medium rare one ordered well done the 2 medium rare steaks came out medium well the well done steak came out medium asked to send back the medium to be cooked more the guy (not our server a different one that brought out our meals) offered to take it back on a napkin of all things, we had to get him to take the whole plate as he insisted on putting the steak on a napkin he had grabbed off our table nice guy and very friendly but definitely not the brightest crayon in the box with that move (yes I know well done takes a while) but everyone at our table was done long before the steak came back out the steaks themselves were bland beyond belief tried steak sauce and even that didn't help I personally wound up getting sick in the restroom while we were waiting for our bill to finally be delivered the manager comped the well done steak meal as well as one of the others (probably cause I had only taken a few bites n left the rest on my plate) yes I understand it was fathers day and holidays tend to get crazy but restraunts should be prepared to be inundated with guests and should max out their staffing to be fully prepared we definitely will never be returning to this location I will say the girl who was our server was super nice and very attentive to not just our table but her other tables as well so for her personally I give 5 stars but to our experience with the restraunt as a whole if I could give less stars I would and no im not being a Karen im giving an honest review of our experience as someone who works in a kitchen I can honestly say if our dinner service was tanking that hard you best believe it'd be getting fixed and back up to proper speed and quality in a heart beat regardless of it being a holiday or not if your staff can't keep up they need more training...
Read moreStarted out excited to try Applebee's for the first time,Ended up regretting it!Was being sat down to a small table,I asked for a booth. Was told there would be a wait for a booth!.Hmmm 2 empty booths right beside our lil table, Apparently she didn't want to bus them! When I called another waitress over to ask for one of the booths beside us,she cleared off the couple cups for us!My silverware was spotted/dirty,not to mention my fork prongs we're bent! Our so called loaded baked potatoes were old!The otter skin was burnt and hard! The potatoes were cold and loaded means sour cream with a piece of bacon bit!My husband said his Salmon tasted char burnt! He had the mac&cheese as well which was extremely dry some of the noodles were hard from sitting! My steak was not bad, would have been better had I been given some Heinz 57 instead of a empty bottle which sat at the end of our table upside down our entire meal!I figured I would use the A-1,wonder what genius decided to add lots of water to it,just ridiculous!I asked for sauteed onion& mushrooms for my steak.I got charged .99¢ for each and the mushrooms and onions combined didn't cover the top of my small steak! All in all the lemonade&broccoli was good!Manager came over asked us how things were,we politely asked her if this was how the potatoes and food was suppose to be?!She said no after seeing the potato standing Rock solid as I tap it with my bent fork to project the sound of it for her!She did offer to adjust the bill, she took off the x-tra add-on chages for the onion& mushroom!I regret not walking out, terrible...
Read moreTruth be told I have not been to an Applebee's in probably over 5 years. The chain has taken a nosedive in my view. Just look at their review which typically are sub 3. Do not get me wrong, I love their commercials. But not every location is low performing based on my visit to the Muncie, IN store.
The signage is excellent off of McGalliard Rd. There are a few entry ways into the lot. My lunch visit started with easy to find parking in Northwest Plaza and a debris free lot. Also the walk up was clear of trash.
A friend and I were immediately greeted and seated in a booth. Not a big lunch crowd, but they had business. My table as well as the adjacent area was clean.
Our friendly female waitress took drink orders and provided menus. My friend immediately decided on their special Bourbon burger, I chose the chicken sandwich. I slipped off to wash my hands and the restroom was spic and span with proper supplies.
Both plates hit the table in around 20 minutes. Everything was correct and hot. My chicken sandwich with bacon was good, fries tasty. My friend loved his burger and raved! We did get a check in and refill on drinks.
Our check was presented in a timely manner and cashed out quickly. Total time was around 50 minutes. That was perfect timing around a planned one hour lunch.
I may have to give Applebee's a try again, but since I was out of town it will not be the Muncie location. This visit caught me off guard in a good way. I...
