New visit May 14, 2019: Jonathan’s has a great Happy Hour and 2-1 beers (and many other options) and to compliment the beer some of their delicious Queso + chili and those awesome homemade tortilla chips. Prime Rib was the decision for the evening and they have a 14 oz slow roasted certified Hereford Beef prime rib. They also blackened them for us with spices that were a great compliment to the beef...and they arrived perfectly cooked medium rare. This dish was served with au jus, a baked potato, and a salad. This is my first time trying Jonathan’s Prime Rib…and it is one of the better prime rib selections I have had in a long time. Great food and great service…highly recommend.

New visit 12/6/2017: While I have not had a “full meal” here yet I do enjoy stopping in for the 2-1 draft/bottle Tuesdays and some munchies. Here you see the HOMEMADE nacho chips and their Queso with some chili mixed in…just the right spice along with great flavor. I will say again…these are the BEST nacho chips I’ve ever had. I also got a half garden salad…which was huge!!! Love how the blue cheese crumbles are actually separate from the dressing adding to the overall flavor. Add to that great service, a large bar with large screen TV’s view-able from any vantage point…and a Pred’s win…was a good visit!!!

May 2017: Visited the newly opened Jonathan’s in Murfreesboro, my first experience with any of the Jonathan’s restaurants. Many positive aspects to this visit…starting with 2/1 Beer on Tuesday’s (ALL DAY) and it included bottles! What made it even better was that both bottles were delivered and one was wrapped in a Koozie to help keep it cold…IMPRESSIVE! Pretty extensive menu so I tried the Queso and added Chili for an appetizer and Melody’s French Dip sandwich with fries. Queso with Chili: This was OMG Good!!! What really impressed me was the tortilla chips were HOMEMADE and delicious. Recommend you order a side of fries to dip into this too…awesome.

Melody’s French Dip was good but not overly flavorful. The shaved prime rib was very tender and spent some time on the grill too, but there was no great flavor. The Au Jus was OK but again not very flavorful. Still a decent sandwich and the roll was soft and complimented the sandwich…just not a winner in my book.

The service was good but I recommend to really stand out this type of place should really rank high on the friendly service…especially when you spend $30 for lunch for one person. It’s all about the total experience…and if you are going to be “higher end” in Murfreesboro the service and friendliness needs to be exceptional.

I will be visiting again to try other dishes, plus they have 1/2 priced appetizers from 3-6pm daily, numerous specials, TV’s everywhere for your sports fix, and...

This was my first time at this location. I have been to 2 other locations and always enjoyed the food.

This time, I ordered a salmon spinach salad. When it arrived, it looked a little pale, but I started eating anyway. I ate a small corner and then went to cut up the salmon to spread throughout the salad. That’s when I discovered the salmon was raw. Completely raw inside with a little paleness on top! I called someone over who quickly took the plate back and gave me a menu. I wish I would have gotten a photo. Waitress comes back and asked if I wanted them to put it back on the grill. I said no! She said she had to run and tell the kitchen so they didn’t cook it again. That Seemed unsanitary considering I had already tasted a corner of it and why would food that hit the table go back in the kitchen to be cooked more.

That ruined my appetite for salmon. I ordered fajita nachos and waited while everyone else in the party (there were 11 of us) ate their food. My food finally came and it was fine. I also enjoyed the southwest egg rolls. I was surprised that I didn’t receive anything for my inconvenience. Not a discount, dessert or even an apology from a manager for serving uncooked salmon on my salad. I never received a refill on my drink. As a matter of fact, the waitress only came to take our order, deliver the checks (which were also incorrect), and collect payment.

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy my experience at this location.

Edited to add the response from the GM is why I will never return.

My salmon was never ordered medium rare! Check with your waitress. As well as they were quick to take it away. It was obviously not cooked correctly. They didn’t say “this is medium well”, they panicked and quickly took it away. Surely you didn’t think that we would ruin a friend’s birthday celebration because of salmon. Of course we are courteous, pleasant guests. We have professional careers. I’m not sure how you expected us to behave, but a simple apology would suffice. Thanks for your response and...

Just not quite right. Great menu. Started with nachos that, while the chips were less than remarkable, had delicious queso, chicken and a corn and black bean medly that were super good. But they then doused it with a ranch dressing that masked all these delicious flavors.

Next it was on to the salad entrees. Mine was the black and bleu Caesar. Not sure where the "black" came from unless they refer to the steak as black. The steak was a full six ounces as billed but even though it was rare (I ordered medium rare), I couldn't even cut it with the steak knife. The light sprinkle of bleu cheese crumbs was much less than I anticipated based on the salad name. No matter, because the flavor couldn't have survived the tang of the dressing they call Caesar, which was so generously covering the salad that I couldn't eat it.

Husband got the Waldorf which was almost perfect -- and FULL of bleu cheese, too! The bruised apple slices were easy to remove from the plate.

I think a manager picked up our dishes but was careful not to so much as even make eye contact with us. No refills on beverages were offered. A little over $50 for lunch BEFORE tip.

Pix of the ample serving of steak in contrast to the brown apple and lettuce.

Though the menu had lots of wonderful options, we won't be returning.

Update: The manager reached out to us and was genuinely interested in our input. Updated review to add a star based on our conversation, and reconsidering returning based on the idea that this was an...
