During the time my mom was going through hospice, the nursing staff were incredibly kind and quick to help us find solutions for my mom's situation. I am grateful for her regular nurse, as well as the after-hour nurses who were caring, patient, and supportive during my mom's last months to postmortem when I had questions on what were the next steps. My mom's hospice provider was very kind and helpful, too, making sure my mom was comfortable in her time of need. The support team did not end there. My mom's social worker and chaplin made sure my family was prepared for the end and helped us through the difficult grieving process that comes with the passing of a loved one. I felt the nurses and nursing assistsnts were just checking boxes off. I waited hrs for a room on T7. After the 1st couple hrs in the ER I felt like I was on my own. Postop my pain was not well controlled. I felt like I was writhing in pain and I just kept kept getting told I had to wait for the pain meds to catch up to my pain. I was always told as a nurse, the patient’s pain needs to be fairly well-controlled for optimal healing. The nurses could have called for higher doses or shorter intervals for pain meds. Very cumbersome experience. I asked for up front pricing 3 times. Stating I only want to spend what is left on my FSA account. The only response from attendant was “the total will be about $200”. After trying to get me to buy 3 month supply, not just one month supply for about $200, attendant had me sign the agreement to pay without seeing the statement. A receipt was printed, put in the bag of items, which was closed up, then later when I looked at what I was being charged the total was just under $300....
