Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Muscatine

Probably an off nite for this establishment there just was nothing done right. So you may have some understanding about this review you must know I am certainly not difficult to please and I have never in my life complained about service anywhere . Tonite however I was asked to pay 87.00 for an experience that was bad from beginning to end .

1 . Seated without wait was nice 20 minutes until even being acknowledged by wait staff . When approached we where ready to order however wait staff was not prepared at this time . 3 wait staff returns to table 15 minutes later takes order appropriately 4 10 minutes later drinks delivered correctly 5 20 minutes later appetizer delivered correctly . Note that by know 2 other parties seated well after ours have their entrees at this time , our order was straight from menu nothing special requested 6 food arrives Luke warm , potatoes are shrivels and from being in warmer , one plate with noodles shows the age because some of the noodles are dried out and yellowed. Side dishes are missing . Salad is missing further delay to receive them. 7 payment system on table locks up 15 more minutes to fix it .

Now I know I didn’t complain and I paid the bill BUT I WILL ALWAYS CHOOSE ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THE MUSCATINE APPLEBEES...

For an expense of $70 food “okay” not very outstanding. But it quite well deserves a one star or less - there was a piece of plastic in the food : 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch may be for which the manager was just sorry and took the piece of plastic with him. I had to pay for the entire food though, the plastic ofcourse came with no cost ! A good reason to never visit the restaurant again not because of the food but my kid could have definitely choked if that fell in her mouth ! Will make sure I convey this story to my friends and colleagues not as a complain but to avoid health safety hazard !

Other than the plastic which covered up most of the things Mozzarella sticks were not fresh-marinara served with it was some how more than warm it was required to be or iam not sure why was it even served hot The leaves were very uneven in the salad and had a portion of the stem Grilled chicken was over seasoned to an extent we could say it was Salty - Mashed potato ofcourse came with a plastic The alfredo pasta was “just okay”

Having children can sometimes make it challenging to find a place to eat. Once in a while, mom and dad just want a nicer, sit-down full service meal to enjoy. But when the kids adamantly want the fast food from across the street or they won't eat what you try to order them, what do you do? We tried the best of both worlds and got them the fast food they wanted and brought it with us so mom and I could enjoy a good lunch in peace. We should have known better, but we thought 'any business is good business, right?' We didn't get asked to leave until they sat us all down in a booth. Our kids didn't understand. And I guess our $50 meals and tips won't make a dent in this establishment. But, you only let a situation like that happen to you once. We left quietly. We will not return.
