As a local, have gone to mr. B's many times for breakfast. Today I took my 84yo Dad for breakfast. The guy who seated us was rude to my Dad. He has tattoos on his knuckles "HOPE" and "LOVE". This place makes sure everyone knows they are "Christian" and ostentatiously display it on their very large chalkboards and on their placemats. My Dad knew the owner and wanted to let him know he was there, so asked to speak with the mgr. Waitress said the kid who seated us was the manager. Dad said never mind. Kid came over anyway and kept pushing "what the problem was". Dad is very hard of hearing, so he really didn't want to speak with this boy. He kept on. Dad told him he didn't want to talk to him and to please go away. He said, "this is my place. I don't have to leave". I asked him to please leave as he was upsetting my Dad. He just continued to push, posture and bully my Dad, I asked him to please walk away. He told us to leave. REALLY! One thing which bothers me is someone who claims to be "Christian" but are false or hypocrites. I feel that maybe this place does not really display the Christian characterisics of virtue, forgiveness, understanding, etc, but rather pridefully and ostentatiously exhibit the "idea" of being Christian as a way to increase profit as this is what we sometimes look for, right? How easy would it have been to just walk away and let my Dad be rather than continue to force the issue. O.K., I leave it to you. If you stand on principle and believe in what is "right" and "honest, then you decide if this place is worth supporting. Cherokee has breakfast that is just as good and they are open longer hours. At a minimum, when you look at the very large artwork on the chalkboards that scream, "We are a Christian business", maybe you will see it a bit differently........ My Dad was born and raised here. He won't go back because of the insult he suffered by this...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went Mr. B's Pancake House for breakfast this morning (05/21/2022) and it was absolutely amazing! This was my first time going and I loved it. The food didn't take long at all to come to our table, which was nice Everything ordered was the Mexican omelette, the big taster, the biscuits and gravy w/ 2 eggs on top and we also got the cinnamon roll. I forgot to take a picture of the cinnamon roll sadly but all of the food was amazing. It was way better than I expected and the prices are amazing as well! The customer service was awesome. The portions are decent as well. When we were paying, my boyfriend used his card that is a designed one and it was a star wars design and our server noticed and wrote "May the force be with you" on one of the receipts. It was awesome. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. I definitely recommend this place to anyone! Our server was Alyssa and she was amazing. She was always checking up on us to see if we needed anything and to ask if everything was good. She was very kind. Our personal ratings of everything: The Mexican omelette a 7.5/10 The big taster a 7.5/10 (the French toast that I got as apart of the big taster wasn't that great. It was definitely different than what I was expecting looks wise and it was kind of bland, even with syrup and butter.) Biscuits and Gravy a 6/10 Cinnamon roll a 5.5/10 The prices a solid 9/10 The customer service a...
Read moreI had been to brunch house before, but I had never been to Mr. B's. This place is really good if you're a vegetarian, but modifying it as a vegan proved to be difficult. The waitress was nice and seemed well meaninged, but I don't think they encounter a lot of vegans because she didn't understand what I was asking for. I wanted to take a veggie omelet and make a scramble, by adding American fries. So, all the veggies and potatoes. When I got the food, the veggies were raw and uncooked instead of sautéed, which was a weird choice. Why wouldn't I want them cooked? But I ate it, it was fine, just not great. I don't think they understood. It's that translation of "they've never met a vegan". Why would I want warm potatoes and cold veggies? I did like the banana pancakes though. Those were delicious. And I made the mistake of ordering an iced coffee with caramel, which I forgot has dairy in it, but it came with a free refill which I got black. They use margarine, which should be fine, in my opinion, so I didn't have any problems with it. but I didn't ask her to look too deep into it. Honestly, it was just a lot of food, you'll get your fill. I would have given five stars had they sautéed the veggies which is really my only small complaint. Everyone was really nice and kind and bent over backwards to be really accommodating. I could have made a fuss, but I didn't want to be a bother. I would definitely...
