My family goes to this specific location often to eat, mainly after church on Sundays but as I was visiting from out of town we decided to go there today before we went shopping. Being a server myself for 15 years, I completely understand when a restaurant is busy or understaffed; this was neither. There were four workers that I could see when we walked in, one worker sitting down filling out some sort of paperwork at one of the empty tables. There was six of us and a baby so we needed two booths, which I'm sure is normal for a group over four. The two booths directly by the door were both dirty and there was only one other both clean so we stood at the front waiting to be sat. One of the servers looked up when we walked in and said, "Welcome to Waffle House" in a voice that clearly said anything but. She was obviously not happy with whatever had transpired during her shift which I have been through so I understand. I ignored the crappy look on her face and we waited. Another group walked in behind us and asked if we were waiting, to which my sister replied that yes, we had a larger group so we would need the booths she was cleaning. The server looks up and says, "Which one do you want me to clean?" very abrasively and my sister replied, "We're going to need both because there are six of us." This server proceeds to ROLL HER EYES and I was shocked. I would never dream of treating even the rudest customer that way, let alone a nice family who just walked in the door. My mother said, "Unless you would like us to eat somewhere else...." and I asked her if she wanted to leave. She said no, but the waitress just looked so miserable that I didn't want her touching my food and at that point she had already lost any tip I was going to give anyway, so I said that we should leave. We gathered up our things and as I was walking out I did inform her that she really needed to work on her people skills and that I'd be going online to give a review of this location. Being a server myself, I know how bad a shift can go. But that is no reason to treat new customers so rudely for no reason. It was like when you're closing in ten minutes and a table of twenty walks in. It sucks, but you smile and grind because that's your job. No one who acts the way this woman did should ever be working with the public. Maybe a dishwasher position would be more suitable for her. I'll be going back on tomorrow only to look at her name tag because I was so startled by her attitude and didn't even think to look. She was middle aged, greying hair, pissy expression on her face. If you don't like what you do for a living, do something else. Tripp, our server at Red Robin where we ended up going, was extremely polite and attentive and I'm certain he enjoyed his $40 tip. Compare that to the zero this woman got paired with a bad online review and I would say that this Waffle House needs to rethink this horrible excuse for an employee. I will not be back and I will be telling everyone I know about the incident. I don't want any friends of mine being treated like dirt the way my...
Read moreAs a Gen X-er, that frequented WH back in the 'ol days of the 80's, 90's, and 00's, this visit wasn't the best. Post Covid, a Lot changed, which we're all aware. This Corp was no different and we get it. Unfortunately, not all change is good. I understand the necessity for a mobile only from midnight to 6a.m.; however, the ability to order according to needs and preferences is practically non-existent. Not this location's employees' fault. They're doing what they can with what they've got. Completely understandable. This particular restaurant doesn't take phone calls at night to update an order. As a result, the food was under par. The workers smoke right outside the entrance, and if one is allergic to cigarette smoke, well, hold your breath and try not to die. Or, maybe fast if you can in order to make it to a better hour to eat. At the time, I had not eaten due to my schedule. I have been to this particular spot more than once and slowly but surely, it's been going downhill since 2019. That's not the fault of the kind, diligent workers endeavoring to do their best and provide the best 'southern hibachi' they can. So many good things are off the menu now. What's left is a smorgasbord of mediocrity disguised as edible food. Yeah, yeah, it's "The Awful Waffle," what should one expect? 🤔 Well, the ability to be able to order effectively as well as efficiently. Employees not smoking directly at the door entrance area would be great. I surmise they're doing that because of lighting issues and the crime levels going up around here. It's a shame one can't rely on an institution that use to pride itself in service, decent food, and being 'open' 24/7. Before anyone tries to come for me, I've seen a whole WH full to the brim ran by just two people on staff. That's All that particular site had for a 3rd shift. So, don't come for me with accusations of not understanding the industry- particularly with this company. I don't blame the employees. I think the responsibility of this goes higher and to different departments. Bottom line, stick to regular hours and hopefully, someone knows scrambled eggs can be...
Read moreWe have previously dined at this Waffle House. It was OK , but nothing to write home about. We were seated and ask what we were having. My response to the question was "I would like to see the menu". The waitress and asked what we having to drink. "Coffee and a soda, please ". To which she replied " What do you want to eat"? Well, being polite, I responded "Could I have a few minutes ". We did place our orders, still no drinks. We did not order burnt hashbrowns , but that's what was served to us. Still no drinks. Then my hashbrowns were served, sans the eggs. Still no drinks. A manager approached the table and asked if everything is good. "Not really " was my response. Still no drinks, only one order of hashbrowns and no eggs. The manager stated he was going to take care of it, personally. My wife's ( not burnt)potatoes were served half way through her meal. My eggs were served after my potatoes were cold . We received our drinks !!! I pointed out my cold potatoes to the manager. He offered to make a fresh order, but then my eggs would be cold. So now my toast shows up. The manager disappears into the abyss never to be seen again by us. The waitress, at checkout, states she will check with the manager to take care of the bill. She returns with an offer of a 10% discount for our inconvenience. I am usually a patient and polite man, but this insult was more than I could bare. I informed her to keep the discount. I would prefer to use the reviews on social media to ascertain My just reward. I'm sure a $10.00 meal will cause no sleep loss for anyone at that location. I see that most of the reviews are positive at that location. Must have been a different crew and manager. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant, so they can not blame the rush for the...
