Man I had a horrible experience not once but 4 terrible interactions with store employees the 1st one I asked a lady to help me and she days we get trucks all the time don't hit what your looking for and walked away she might as well sorry stupid customer don't have time for you 2nd was at the checkout I was a guest but wasn't allowed to purchase my items he was very aggressive and loud I was embarrassed 3rd I then had to buy my own membership right there in the spot and NOBODY knew how to do that at the registers except 1 great guy named Scott he saved the day BUT COSTCO ONLY ACCEPTS VISA YIKES 3rd I had to redeem a gift card and I'm waiting on line and a lady cuts in front of me and I shrugged and the customer service girl said we are all in line here very rude hands me my gift cards and walks away no thank you no nothing 4th I proceed to the next area to finish my membership enrollment and I'm thinking do I even want to do this let alone ever go back to that store and while in line again another lady attempted to cut in front of me again she said I have a question I days go ahead and then this turns out to be a long complicated question yeesch BUT REDEMPTION for the store MIKAELA saved the experience she was exceptional she let me vent offered to refund my membership if I was that unhappy I joined she did an excellent job trying to upsell my membership but it was too much money for me meanwhile my friends were working for now 35 minutes offered to load my purchases but they needed my receipt so quick thinking MIKAELA made a copy of my receipt so they could go and waked me thru the process she then grabbed her very nice supervisor and had me speak to her and share the bad treatment I had in the store was very apologetic and polite and promised to report the incident to her boss and assured me the next time I was in there it would be better. Well I went back again and the very nice girl at self checkout helped me I got assistance in the store from several very nice employees so marked improvement so all in all it was a better experience. Still hesitant to go to that store but I really like several products and in 2 visits I have spent a little over 400.00 and it's just 2 of us in our household . So if this matters at all to COSTCO they really need to teach the employees KINDNESS and customers big or small MATTER and that's why they have jobs!! Thank...
Read moreI must be the ONLY person who does not like Costco. I tried, I have given Costco 2 years but my membership expires in a month and I'm done. I will add I am also a member at the other brand membership club and have been over 15 years and love that experience but I have a problem every visit to Costco. The main reason I'm done is I find Costco simply to hard and complicated to do business with ... a few reasons why. I dislike inconsistency, a few examples... I can use my Master Card online but not in the store, The black Friday item suggest a product I want is available in store or is available online but at a higher price? I can't verify store stock when I shop online. I like to know something is in stock before I make the drive to the store. This is 2021, The Costco website should show me if an item is in stock at my local store and show me the in store price. The other clubs websites do. The reseller tax program is to confusing to use, one rule for online, one for in-store, confusing so I never used it. Simple process at the other club. I do like the Costco in-house brand, its great stuff and a great price but not enough to keep me. The cafe hotdogs are not as good as the other membership store, close and almost but not as good. On my last visit I grabbed a buggy, walked around the store and did not buy anything. As I was walking out with a empty cart I was stopped buy the receipt checker and he proceeded to check my empty cart, then started a detailed search of my cart, I have nothing in the cart and the cart being empty was clearly visible, I didn't need the empty cart so I said to the older guy, you can just have the empty cart, he then said he didn't want it and I guess expected me to give him even more time to inspect an empty cart, and then return it out in front of the store for him. It was a bit ridiculous as the cart was empty. You stop me and do a investigation on a empty cart on my time, its now your cart "guy". Im not returning, I'm not missing anything at Costco except the crowd, excessive long checkout lines and zero customer service and a store and website that I believe are actually in competition with each other. Thanks but no thanks Costco, I'm returning to the true...
Read moreWe started going to the MB Costco a couple of years ago. It is a great place to shop with a big family. Lots of great and healthy finds too which is why I am giving them three stars. Lately, it has become unenjoyable to go to Costco. The other customers are miserable which I know the store can not help BUT the employees have become pretty rude and unfriendly lately. Typically I go through self checkout because they don't let me keep my children in the cart when I am checking out at the other registers. With three small kids, that can make checking out very difficulty. As a result, I go through self-checkout and it always feel like I am going through airport security. First, I have to get separated into lines while employees are yelling about going to other registers or getting in the right lines when there is no space. Then, I have to get carded to make sure I am not using someone else's membership. Then, the staff stand over me and watch to make sure I am checking everything out correctly and telling me what I can and cannot scan myself. I get they are trying to help but the staff really needs to work on their delivery when they are speaking to customers. Today, the woman at self-checkout was extremely friendly but that is a rare moment lately. The poor woman had her supervisor marching around giving her orders to do multiple jobs in the self-checkout area instead of giving her the support she needed.
In my opinion, have the cards checked more carefully at the door when people enter to avoid people using someone else's membership. Being carded AFTER I have done all of my shopping and have impatient kids is ridiculous. In addition, have a better system for customers checking out with multiple children if they don't want them to stay in the cart (but allow some families to let their kids stay in the carts). Lastly, get every employee on the same page about self-checkout and make more space for this area.
In all honestly, I cannot wait for BJs to open. I have already signed up for my membership there and will not be renewing my Costco...
