we purchased a brand new washer and dryer two months ago from this location. home depot installed them for us and a few weeks ago, we almost had a fire in our home because we discovered our dryer was not installed correctly. the original technicians home depot sent to deliver our dryer did not even cut the vent to fit the space where our dryer was to go into. they left the entire length of the vent and slammed the dryer up against the wall, crushing the vent against it and leaving no space for the lint to leave our home. we opened the dryer before bed to check the current load inside, and our entire downstairs area was smoked up with smoke from the dryer. we were about to go to bed for the evening, and if we had, our pets, small children, and us would have all been upstairs in bed for the night while our home burnt down. we are very lucky we caught the dryer before it went up in flames, thanks to home depots installation technicians. naturally, i called home depot to come and fix their mistake once we had discovered the vent was not properly cut and this was the cause for our near-fire experience. the appliance manager, Rob, employee number 1116, spoke to me on the phone regarding this issue. he didnât seem at all concerned that home depots mistake almost led to a fire in our home that could have been life threatening. when i asked what was being done about the technicians that installed our dryer incorrectly and unsafely, he said âiâll make a note of itâ without a care in the world and mentioned that he would send a new technician to cut the vent the correct way. my husband went down to speak to him in person, and he promised us compensation to make up for the issue as well as contact by phone within the next few days. a few days went by and we could not get ahold of Rob. so my husband went back to home depot to discuss our supposed âcompensationâ for almost burning down our home, and Rob said that them coming to cut the vent WAS the compensation, and on top of that, was extremely rude to my husband. the best part is that the second time they came out to âfixâ the vent, they didnât even connect it to the dryer properly a SECOND time, and destroyed our vent leaving holes throughout it and leaving it unusable. what great âcompensationâ, home depot, your technicians have now destroyed our dryer vent. moral of the story, DO NOT buy any sort of appliances from home depot, and DO NOT let them install anything into your home! this could have been very bad for us and they couldnât care less for the mishap they caused. we will never spend our hard earned money here again and sincerely regret trusting them to safely install our appliances. the attached photo shows our vent that was completely uncut, as well as the piece of the vent that was so crumpled into the wall that lint could not pass through, contributing to the smoking/overheating of our dryer. the second and third photos show what they did to our dryer vent after coming to âfixâ it a...
   Read moreDear Home Depot:
My husband and I are in the market for a new refridgerator. After comparing features, we were interested in the LG Model # LMXS30776S MODEL. Using my cell phone, we did a google search on :âLMXS30776S PRICESâ which came back with a photo of the model we were interested in, its Model # and the following results:
Stores Home Depot $2,198.00 hhgregg $2,799.99 Appliances Con... $2,195.60 AJ Madison $2,199.60 US Appliance $2,794.10
We were in the Myrtle Beach area at the time so we went to the Home Depot in Myrtle Beach #1116 and found that the LMXS30776S model was priced at $2794.00. We asked the sales clerk to honor the price shown on our Google search ( which we pulled up again on our cell phone). He said that was not the on-line price from the Home Depot, and that online search engines falsify &/ or switch prices.and models on product model searches. We then went to their in-store customer service, same answer. We called in the manager from the major appliances. department.. same answer. We had the storeâs floor manager phone usâŚsame answer. All four Home Depot employees claimed that search engines regularly mislead customers with inaccurate search results, and refused to honor the price shown on the Google online search results.
I have written Google to ask "Why does Googleâs search engine pull up a photo and product number for LG LMXS30776S with a price no one find out where it came from, and a price no one will honor? If I use a search engine to find out information about a specific product number, I expect it to give me a clear accurate answer. I should not have to keep digging to determine where that price came from or whether the engine is showing me a photo of the product I requested, but giving me the price for another. If that is how Google results are posted, I will consider Googleâs search results are too unreliable for future use".
I should also add that I now have serious questions about Home Depot relationship with the Google search engine, and about H.D.'s truth in advertising policy. If Googles search results are as blatantly misleading as your store employees claim, I would think that Home Depot would long ago have taken that issue up with Google. After all, it is your stores which are left holding the bag. If Google or any other search engine are not producing accurate results you will honor, Home Depot should be making a public stink about it, rather than allowing your customers to be lured into your store under false pretenses. I certainly intend to tell everyone I know about what happened, and it isn't just Google'reputation I will be...
Read moreI had previously purchased zig zag multi-outlet multi-outlet electrical cord. They are really great for phone chargers laptop chargers Etc. between each plug-in point there is a pivot so that you can rotate them so that you can take advantage of every single plug in no matter what is plugged into the outlet next to it. Tried to use their home Depot product finder but it didn't work. Has worked in the past and been helpful but not this time. Walked up and down the two electric isles that could possibly have had the unit and it wasn't there want to front counter for assistance and the guy there said that I should ask one of the pros back in that area because he couldn't leave his station didn't offer to use their communication system. Went back and walked up and down both isles again with no luck and no pro. Finally went over to light bulbs and the pro gentleman there asked me if he could help me. I explained what I wanted and he knew right away what it was that I had purchased. He said we don't carry those no more. đż What, you don't carry them anymore? They were one of the best outlets you had for that application, said I. guess probably marketing had something to do with it. Probably would have been a good idea to put it over with all the racks of stuff they had, that had to do with phones and laptops power outlets. Half an hour later I left empty-handed, steaming.
OCT 16 2021 update: got over above and have made a few purchases since. Stopped the other day to get some daylillys. Entered garden area and talked with lady at check out. She said she knew nothing about plants. I decided to look. No luck inside or out, and no employees knew about their garden stock. Grabbed a couple large pot plastic pans and headed to check out. Asked different different lady. She said: "all gone, if we had any they'd be over there", pointing at the perenial bench. How about outside. "Oh yah" she said and walked out the gate pointing at 2 tables at far end. No daylillys and no one who had knowledge of gardening....
