By far the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. Comically bad. Unenthusiastic waitress with an attitude problem, S L O W service despite there being barely any people in the restaurant, and an abundance of kitchen/wait staff, soggy chips, and food poisoning.
My family and I ate at Cotton Patch in Nacogdoches several night ago and were served by the red haired waitress Anna. From the moment she sat us down, we could tell she was in a very bad mood and unhappy to be there. Took forever to get the chips we ordered, and when they came out, they were soggy and limp, so we asked for new ones that were properly cooked. When she brought them back, they were the same chips, just dumped in a fry basket and brought back out. She put the extremely hot dish directly in front of my 9 month old son, and said "careful it is very hot". My son could have been burned by her careless act.
The chips were the same, just burned and covered in fry grease now. Then the food came, and they were "out of bowls" (how does this even happen?) for the soup my mother ordered, my wifes steamed vegetables were cold, and the mashed potatoes had a film on them from a heat lamp. My mothers fried okra was cold in the center. My mother and wife both came down with horrible food poisoning the night of/day after. My wife hasnt been able to eat anything substantial since.
Several other tables within ear and eyeshot were getting their orders messed up/cold, and the manager was going around doing damage control. The floors were also disgustingly dirty, that new foam matting they put down is gross and tacky, but thats beside the point.
I will be making a report to the Nacogdoches health inspector about this.
A comedy of errors that ended up costing us $60, terrible food poisoning, and my infant son almost being severely burned.
0/10, do not recommend, go...
Read moreThis was not the first time I have eaten at Cotton Patch or have eaten at this particular Cotton Patch. We opted to eat dinner at this place, as it was close to my kid's apartment. We were immediately seated and sat for a long time before any server even approached us for drink orders or menus. In fact, I did notice the table in front of us commenting that they noticed we were ignored. The young lady who assisted us was very polite and friendly. Did did not apologize for the long wait. She quickly brought us drinks and made sure they were full at all times. The service was probably the only positive thing going for this place, other than us having to wait for menus and drinks.
I decided to opt for the Chicken Fried Brisket. I have cooked Brisket for years and know you need to cook it low and slow. I am not sure what the heck I was thinking when I ordered this. When I got it, it was "chewy" and not tender at all. You could tell they did not trim the brisket at all, as I got a huge piece of fat. (Yes, that is where the "flavor" comes from, but not when you have a huge fat cap.) The coating was bland. I ordered garlic mashed potatoes, which also had little flavor at all. I expected a bit more garlic and a tad bit more black pepper seasoning. I also got the green beans, which were descent. My son ordered the sweet chili chicken strips. He seemed to like them. My wife ordered a steak, which was cooked perfectly. I was be surprised when I got the bill and it was almost $80. I would expect that if I had also ordered some alcoholic beverages, but we only ordered two waters, a tea and a diet coke.
I am not sure if its a supply chain thing that caused this place to raise their prices. For the value, I...
Read moreTook my wife and sister in law for a great dining experience ,but was disappointed!!! We were seated quickly and our drinks were brought in a timely manner. When the food arrived, me being a chef myself, looked at the food appearance and plating and was disappointed. The beef tips: very little meat, soggy rice and no seasoning, chicken fingers: poorly breaded and undercooked, instead of golden brown they were a yellow white color,; The chicken salad sandwich that I ordered was not seasoned, and had runny mayonnaise on it, the fries were cold with no seasoning as well. The peach cobbler the ladies ordered was undercooked and pale yellow with no brown sugar or cinnamon on it, instead it was loaded with granulated sugar. The strawberry lemonade was horrible. I asked a server for a to -go box in the hopes that our dog would enjoy this since we clearly did NOT!! Promptly left only a $10.00 tip and hightailed it out. We will not be back, $70.00 wasted! For a poor dining experience...I do NOT recommend Cotten...
