Edit: A little more than two years after our original review, we finally made it back. Our first choice, Biscuits BBQ, was closed for a private event, so we decided to give Bounty Hunter a second chance. We ordered the stuffed jalapenos, meat platter with chips, mac, and cornbread. The stuffed jalapenos were remarkably good. The bacon on them was delicious. The cheese filling was amazing. The side of ranch was so good. I think we could eat a dozen of these! We both felt that the meat was better this time around. While brisket isn't our favorite in general, this brisket was tender. The ribs and pulled pork were both outstanding! The pulled pork particularly impressed me with its flavor. The sauces were okay. The cornbread was just the right amount of sweet, with plenty of butter. The mac was good, though not as good as we remembered. I still think an option for a side of rolls would be great with the pulled pork, and I'd still love to be able to swap the chips for something better, but all in all, it was an excellent meal, more in line with what we were expecting at this price point. The service was very good also. It felt worth the splurge.
Original Review: The mac and cheese, though small in portion, is big in flavor! It was delicious and the highlight of our meal! We had the meat platter also (pulled pork, tri tip, and ribs). The meat was tender and the sauce provided at the table was pretty decent. The chips and slaw were definitely a let down. They tasted mediocre, as if they came from a bag. If we could have had mac instead on the platter, that would have been a win! I would eat their ribs and pulled pork again - and of course the macaroni. The tri tip wasn't bad, but it was a bit well done for my taste. That's a personal preference though. I also would have loved the option for some rolls with the pork. I think I expected more for the price point, but overall the meal and service were good. The tables are a bit small - likely because of space limitations. We agreed that the corner edges of a square table would have been a big improvement for us, but we made do. The air conditioning was great on this hot day! We would go again on a warm day when we need some AC with our BBQ. I would just make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as parking is hard to find. We had to walk a few...
Read moreThere are things i love about this place, but our most recent experiences were not very good.
We stopped in on a Thursday, 4 in our group, we were told there would be a 1 hour plus wait. We knew they didn't take reservations, so we expected that there may be a long wait. We decided to have a drink and head out to somewhere else and come back another day. Within 10 minutes, were were told we could be seated. By then we had changed our minds and settled on heading out. I just don't see how you can quote 60+ minutes, but have a table in 10.
Our next trip there was a Sunday evening, 4 in our group. We were quoted 30-40min wait with only 1 other group in front of us. 30 minutes passes and we have seen other groups seated who had come in after us. I asked the hostess and she gave a short answer that equated to, we don't have a table for a group of 4. I pointed to a round table that comfortably had 3 chairs around it and could have easily fit 1-2 more chairs. She told me that she could not give me that table. Over the next 10 minutes, more people get up and she seats a party of 1 directly in the middle of a table that seats 8-10. This is when the bartender gave us all a free round of drinks. He apologized and said he would go talk to someone.
20 or so minutes after that we were seated next to the round table that she told us she could not seat us at. There was a "RESERVED" sign on that table now, and 4 chairs....... They don't take reservations, and by the time the 2 girls, who appeared to be friends of the hostess, showed up, half of the restaurant was empty.
It appeared that we were made to wait almost an hour so that her friends could reserve a table that they didn't need for quite some time. All this time, no manager anywhere to help us. Even after the bartender went up to speak with him.
Great wine list Above average bourbon selection No vodka or gin, unless you order a bloody mary...... The brisket and pulled pork were dry, the ribs were ok The server and bartender were great. The hostess and manager, not so great

Read moreUsed to be a favorite place from which to order wine and spirits, but no longer! Be warned, if you order from Bounty Hunter and something is damaged in transit they may not take responsibility. And if my case is any indication they will act in a rude and dismissive manner and basically blame the customer. Bounty Hunter no longer ships. They make you arrange for shipping. It is a hassle and very bizarre in this age of online ordering but I did it given my years of being a customer. My old rep knew me and my preferences and would make suggestions from time to time and that kept me coming back. I got a new rep last year who was a dramatic change for the worse. A few weeks ago I ordered several bottles of expensive bourbons and ryes. Bounty Hunter packed the boxes. Bounty Hunter gave me a recommendation for a shipper called iShip, which I used. In other words, I did the ordering and the paying, like a normal customer, and relied on Bounty Hunter for the rest, assuming I could count on them like a normal high-end retailer. One box with nearly $400 of bourbon never arrived, only a note saying the contents had been damaged. I contacted Bounty Hunter and my rep was shockingly rude and dismissive, disclaiming any responsibility even though they packed the shipment. IShip offered to do another shipment if Bounty Hunter would repack new bottles but they refused. I will never order from them again. I do intend to research whether there is a breach of California consumer protection laws or a breach of contract by Bounty Hunter. In any case, if you order from them, you have...
