Carpe Diem Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Napa

12/25/2024 , 12 pm on Christmas Day, the restaurant was P A C K E D and still they killed it! I'm not going to give my review based on food (one thing everyone is crazy about, and YES, it was great in every possible way). Instead, I would like to give my enormous big fat 100 star review to the floor manager and his staff. As I said, today was Christmas day, clearly, they were understaffed , but the service was absolutely top notch. As a retired restaurant professional with 15+ years of experience , I definitely know what it's like to serve a very diverse crowd on a big holiday with very little help. I don't think everyone understands the pain, but I do. Our server had no busser, just a food runner and a rock-star manager who was helping with cleaning tables, running food, bringing guests to the tables, etc. Having THAT many tables in your section, cleaning and resetting them between the courses, delivering drinks and opening wine bottles, man, that's A LOT to handle. Ali, we never felt that you are busy for us, you made our day. Thank you so much! We never a)felt rushed, b) in need of anything (our water glasses were always full, our wine glasses were constantly refilled, we had fresh forks /knives), c)we felt that we are a priority even though there were other, I would say 8-10 tables in his section.

There are many good restaurants in Napa, but this one you want to return to. Anyone can make great food, but making people feel special and important is a skill and a talent that not that many have. Carpe Diem staff has it. Love you guys, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year....

We are Napa locals and reached out by email to about 8 different restaurants in the Napa Valley; J. Gabriel, the manager of Carpe Diem was the ONLY ONE to phone me, leave a personal message, and send an email. He was professional and personable. With so many wedding preparations, J. Gabriel eased my mind and took care of our intimate dinner of 12. He personalized our dinner menus and every guest was taken care of immediately.

Food is creative and delicious at Carpe Diem. Items are available for pescatarians and vegetarians. Guests enjoyed trying the handcrafted drinks by the bartender. We never felt rushed and Service was quietly present, effective, and not overbearing. So glad we are locals because I must try everything on their menu. My new sister-in-law has just booked them for her employer’s holiday brunch. Go eat there. The food and service will explain it all. Arancini (decadent and delicious, burrata is creamy good, calamari - included fun citrus twist! Playful, delicious surprises. Risotto, Short ribs, and Pacific Halibut. I am glad we live in Napa. I keep wondering about their pork chops…I...

well what to say about this place... first the food is amazing, and the ambient is comfy. however, is so comfy that the service is missing so steps important in the restaurant industry. Our server Olivia, was rude, unhelpfull, made us feeling that she was doing us a favor in to server us, first didin't open our bottle of the wine. in view of that long wait we decide open for ourself. she came and using rude words said we couldnt do that. she works 20 years in the industry and it is illegal( just to clarify our table was all from the industry, including manager, bar managers, and owner of the local vineyard) if u had did your job u didint need to open by ourself( highlight), plus we just didint open we also need to pour the wine all the time in our glass... in the end before we start order our food we explained for her that we will have 3 people coming afterwards and we would like they paycheck to be separated since they were not spend the same that us, she rude again said no we dont do that.... we request the manager and he said no problem... I am the point to tell her if u need with your 20 years experience, that I go over there and teach u how to open a new table in the system I can do... resume... i recommend the place, however made yourself a favor and request any server instead this one, because she could ruin your great...
