We stopped by the Napa location of Gott’s Roadside, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The weather was perfect, the crowd was manageable, and the food absolutely delivered.
I ordered the double cheeseburger, paired with sweet potato fries and a New Glory Gummy Worms Chewy Pale Ale. My friend opted for the chicken sandwich daily special, garlic fries, and a Coke. Double Cheeseburger: Succulent, juicy, and perfectly cooked. This burger rivals any top-tier spot like Super Duper or In-N-Out. Every bite melted in my mouth, making it a standout classic. Sweet Potato Fries: Crispy with a satisfying crunch, they were the perfect companion to the burger. Pale Ale: I’m not typically a beer guy, but this pale ale was refreshing, smooth, and surprisingly enjoyable.
My friend’s garlic fries were flavorful but just a touch soft for my liking, though that didn’t stop us from eating every last one!
And now for the star of the show: the crab sandwich. Though I only had a single bite of my friend’s, it stole the spotlight. Packed with fresh, flaky crab, crisp lettuce, green onions, and an incredibly refreshing sauce, this sandwich was phenomenal. It was generously portioned and bursting with flavor, easily worth more than the menu price. If I return, and I absolutely will, it’s what I’d order without hesitation.
Gott’s is a place that nails it on all fronts, food, atmosphere, and service. Whether you’re craving a classic burger or looking to indulge in the best crab sandwich you’ll ever try, this is the spot. Don’t think twice, go and enjoy a meal that’s truly worth 5...
Read moreThis was by far the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. I recently took a group of my students on a field trip to Napa and we stopped at Gotts for dinner because it had fantastic reviews. I have a pretty severe allergy to pineapple so I am always sure to read and re-read the ingredients list. I got the avocado tacos and a berry lemon freeze because I thought it would be a safe choice. When the taco came out there was a small piece of avocado sitting on top of the mounds of green cabbage, and a small berry lemonade that I took a few sips of before my tongue and mouth began to swell. I quickly took some medication to help with the swelling and went inside to ask the employees if anything I had could have had pineapple in it. They looked me dead in the eyes and said “no we don’t use any pineapple in what you ordered” after asking several times now holding up there line and explaining that I was having an allergic reaction to something they giggled and said “ well they use pineapple paste in the smoothie” I was so upset that I just turned around and left now 2 days later I am still feeling the affects of this and I can hardly speak. Please educate you employees on how important it is to take allergy’s seriously please.
Berry Lemon Freeze Berry sorbet hand-spun with The Perfect Puree lemon zest and house-made lemonade.
Avocado Tacos Crispy fried avocados served in soft, blue corn tortillas with green cabbage & cilantro slaw, Cotija cheese, salsa verde, red onions, lime & chipotle mayo. 3...
Read moreSt Helena local here, literally day one supporter since their grand reopening 20+ years ago(they gave out free burgers that day). I even briefly worked there after high school. I say this to show that I know what I’m talking about and I know what right looks like at any Gott’s location (I’ve tried them all).
Very disappointing that the service and quality has deteriorated as of late. On this specific day I brought visitors from So-cal to the Napa location. I’ve recommended and brought people from all over the world here, always validated by their satisfaction.
Unfortunately I hyped this place up to my visiting friends the whole time I showed them around the Valley. Not only did we have to wait 40+ minutes after ordering to get our food, it was awful when it finally came out. On one of the occasions I went to check on our order, the cook was just hanging out and chatting with front staff. Finally a manager brought out our order. I wanted to speak to him on my out that day, instead of writing this review, but I was told he had left already. I never knew managers to leave before closing (reminder, I worked there).
I had to apologize to my friends on your behalf for the terrible food and even told them it must have been an off-day to save face. Point is, Gott’s has never a “hit-or-miss” place, and it’s now becoming one because this wasn’t my only negative experience. Just the one that made me write this...
