Kara's Cupcakes Napa — Restaurant in Napa

I purchased 96 cupcakes to take to work which was very expensive and the manager and girl working refused to give me the amount of napkins needed for each cupcake purchased in order to hand 1 to each person. They stood there and argued with me tryung to provide plates in its place when they clearly had napkins. They had only placed 12 napkins in the bag. I explained that plates dont clean your fingers and that I needed more napkins to provide with the 96 cupcakes. After all, I brought my business to their business instead of purchasing at Sift and another bakery...... BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! The ladies were extremely rude and would not let me speak to the owner after asking multiple times. I will never co.e back to this establishment and will share with all the moms out there to spend their money at Sift. To All who may be wanting to buy cupcakes for their staff members or a party stay away from this place. Go to Sift Dessert Bar Cupcakes by Whole Foods or Sweeties cupcakes where your purchases as a customer will be truly appreciated. My husband and I stopped in to get some cupcakes as a tasting for our future wedding reception. I suggested Kara's because years ago, I was a huge fan and LOVED the cupcakes and unfortunately the only local shop in Walnut Creek shut down. So, I was excited to have them again and have my husband try them for the first time and we were unfortunately really disappointed. They were dry and the Lemony Meyer cupcake I remember tasting lovely, didn't taste good at all. The buttercream was just full on butter flavor and there was zero lemon flavor.

Additionally, I asked the employee for "one cupcake of each non-seasonal flavor" and she had no idea what that meant. 🥴 I had to explain to her which flavors were considered seasonal and which ones weren't. Overall, subpar customer service and needless to say, I feel like I wasted $60 in cupcakes. We'll be looking for our reception...

This is an absolute must for me when I am in Northern California, especially when I’m in Napa. Unfortunately, my visit today was not positive at all. Being gluten free, I love finding good bakeries, and Kara’s has never disappointed…until today. When at the counter I ask the the employee what flavor she recommended and she looked at me and my fiancée and said, “Well they all taste like cupcakes.” Ummmm seriously? Thanks for the riveting and painfully obviously suggestion. I responded by saying, “Ok, thanks I’ll take the chocolate looking one.” We paid and left.
