Tony, the manager was amazing from the start. We missed our reservation, and he accommodated us to sit at a walk-in spot, but yet very cozy and charming, and just very quaint.
Our server Christal, was rude from the start. She provided the menus once we knew what we had planned to eat she retrieve them extremely quickly we did ask for bread to be brought to our table. She did place it at our table but she did throw it onto the table, and then put the plates very brash on the table along with the silverware.
Our food arrived as a food runner brought it to us. Everything was great with the food, warm hot, very tasteful no problems with the food. Thank God she didn't bring it otherwise I am sure we would have had splats of food around our clothing.
Once our server saw that we were completing our dinner, she provided us with the check (again we felt rush out the door) and due to her very rude ways with us, and with all her tables in general, we were close enough to see us. She was putting in orders how she was throwing down the plates by the windowsill, breathing heavily making noises she was extremely annoyed just to be there, and once she provide us with a check, we gave her a tip of five dollars. We thought that that was appropriate for the really minuscule service we received as such a high, end restaurant from someone who you can clearly see cannot handle tables, people and she does not have the disipline it takes to serve (coming from a former server, ME!) I NEVER treated my tables nor my clients the way we were treated tonight. Not sure if its because we are LGTBQ and it was my wife and myself but still she was RUDE.
We were still at our table and getting ready to leave when she opened up our bill and saw what we left her for tip. She laughed and titled her head back and just said the words really? Said them loud enough where we heard her. I turned around ands he was just standing there bitter. I did approach the manager, I spoke to him and explain to him that I was in the only table that she was being very brash with and while I understand, it’s busy on a Saturday night and you do have other tables it’s not like you’re running every table in the restaurant more attention to detail should’ve been put into her tables and her tip could’ve been $25-$30.00, but she didn’t earn that due to her very brash ways of doing things and how she really did not care About whether or not we were taken care of if you can’t do your job as a server than maybe you should just not be serving at all.
First time here, and utterly disappointed. Tony is aware of the situation with Christal. I hope something is done so no one whether you are LGTBQ or not experience this attitude from this...
Read moreWe've been to 2 other Cooper's Hawk locations, and our experience at each was fine like any other place. But today, this was our first time at the Naperville location. From our point of entry to our exit, the service we experienced from the hostess to Tony at the wine tasting bar to our waitress, Autmn. Tony took the time to explain how the wine membership club worked, was patient with us with our tastings, and gave us some great recommendations. Note we had tastings at the other 2 locations, but it felt like we were a bother to them and wouldn't really provide service properly, probably because they were busy servicing many others lined up at their tastings bar, but this location was just as busy, it was Friday night after all. Then the hostess handed us off to Autmn, and she provided, by far, one of the best services I've ever experienced from any restaurant waitress/waiter. She truly heard our needs, provided exactly that, and came by often...it was like she was reading our minds that we needed something. She was patient in explaining some of the menu options, as I was the only vegetarian member in our family. She had a certain sweetness about her that would make anyone comfortable coming into the restaurant, and was genuinely kind in her way about providing her service to us. I do feel bad not asking for the name of the hostess, but she was kind and smiling as she addressed us for our 5:45pm reservation. They were fully booked and busy, and I walked in thinking the service may not be so great, but I was delighted to experience the very opposite of my thoughts. Thank you, will easily choose this location over other restaurants...
Read moreCancelled my membership. Service is mediocre at best. My last visit really just threw me over the edge. The waitress in the bar area (didn’t get her name, but she has pinkish blond curly hair in a braid) didn’t introduce herself, barely acknowledged me and seemed in a rush. We discussed a few menu items but I asked for more time on the menu. Then she brings me something I didn’t order and caught an attitude with me when I said I didn’t order that. If she wasn’t in such a rush, maybe she would’ve been able to listen better.
She didn’t ask me any question about being a member so when I brought it up at the end of my visit so she can comp my glass of wine she got irritated saying next time I need to tell her before I eat so she can have a manager ring it up differently. She breathed hard at me Then disappeared for 15 minutes. I had to go to the host stand to request the check. Finally my waitress brings it to me and disappears again! I ended up having to check out with a whole different waitress because the lady kept disappearing. It was annoying and unprofessional.
Also While I was eating, I witnessed another waitress cleaning up a table next to me and she dropped a fork on the floor. She then kicked the fork all the way across the floor to the other side of the dining room and told someone else to pick it up for her. Just very bad and unprofessional service.
Also a guy walked a filled and OPEN garbage can across the dining room to go throw it out. It was gross. Nobody wants to see that while they are eating.
I’m just really disappointed in the service here. It’s too expensive to have such terrible service. Will NOT...
