I visited this location in May 2022, and lemme tell ya - they have some major improvements to make.
I'm new to the area by-way of numerous states and cities; including California, Missouri, and Florida. I've attended IHOP in every state I've resided, but this one obviously doesn't care too much about its upkeep.
I was greeted by filthy glass doors upon entry, including a horrible smell. The smell was something like a hog pen, where mules and other wild animals had been mating. I walked into the restaurant from the entry waiting area, and then was greeted by a very, very messy desk where the checkout for customers usually occurs. Turning to my right, was what would be the hostess stand.
The carpet was filthy, sticky, and also seemed to have that same awful smell. There was water stains on the ceiling, crumbs all over the floor, you could see filthy handprints and dirt prints on the walls, and no one here looked happy to work for the most part. Something in me didn't want to be disrespectful, so I took my chances here anyway.
I dress pretty nicely when going out to eat, so to have had on the attire I wore in this atmosphere was pure blasphemy. The tables were seemingly clean, but I sat at a booth directly behind the hostess stand. It was sticky and the seat appeared to have cracking leather, that should have been replaced in the 90s.
Someone who should have been doing their job as a waiter, was SEATED in a booth across from a family I'm assuming he knew, just chatting away. Although he could have greeted me - he didn't. He just kept talking, while wearing his little IHOP apron. I was then greeted by the beautiful server named Gina. She was very professional, accommodating, and hilarious I kept asking myself why the HELL would she be working there, but its absolutely none of my business.
I usually wash my hands before meals, but judging the appearance of the place, I decided not to take a chance on seeing what the restrooms looked like, and instead took out some hand sanitizer. I ordered Blueberry pancakes, eggs, and coffee. It took about 10 minutes for the food to cook. While waiting, I noticed NUMEROUS Black men just walking back and forth who were employees there - not greeting anyone, not smiling, not saying anything. The cook who made my food was also a Black man. From what I recall, he went into another area after leaving the kitchen, then went back into the kitchen - without washing his hands - and simply resumed cooking. Talking about "A1" service here, folks.
The food arrives, and it looked exactly how the restaurant looked: Greasy, displeasing, and unhealthy. Now, IHOP is KNOWN for their pancakes. How the HELL they messed those up, is beyond me. The coffee arrived. This coffee was weaker than my edges, y'all. I told my amazing waitress I needed my coffee to be STRONG as an Ox. She laughed, apologized, and removed it from my ticket.
I didn't eat the food, y'all. I just paid her a $20 tip just for being there that day. I pray if anything, this location gets CONDEMNED for how disgusting it is, and my waitress finds a much more cleaner and safer environment to work in. Everything at this location spells...
Read moreWorst service we have ever had. I went in with my two kids, waited for about 20 minutes (with open tables) many severs walked past us. As we were seated the “manager” elbowed my kid in the face. Now, my daughter walked behind her as the manager was putting silverware on the table so it was an accident but she just kept saying “oh she walked behind me. I didn’t see her. She walked into my arm” “do you want a different server? Some moms would be pissed and would ask for a different server”
And then she goes “oh, you know even if it’s the kids fault some parents would be mad.”
Like no I’m not mad you elbowed her, I’m mad you’re trying to blame my 5 year old while YOU are the one receiving a tip. And SHE is the one who got hurt. This lady’s name was Sarah.
I was like no it’s alright… can I get a coffee? She brought me a coffee and an extra coffee pot. As I poured my coffee, it was COLD. Like cold cold. Not warm, but cold. I asked for a new coffee and had to wait 15 min for a new coffee. She put our orders in, and the kids got the cupcake pancakes. (Missing the icing once we got it.) I asked for waters, did not get them until we were done eating.
I asked for a to go order of chocolate chip pancakes. I waited and waited. The manager sat in a booth and was on her phone waiting for me to pay the bill. She kept walking over to see if we left. Um, no. I’m waiting for the pancake order I paid for. Mind you, she’s sitting in a booth, while there’s a whole bunch of trash and piles of food plates on ALL of the tables by us. She didn’t clean up anything.
I tell her I’ll leave once I get the pancakes. She said “oh right! They made the wrong ones let me remake them” I wait another 10 min, and once I get them I get no bag, no silverware to go, no syrup to go or butter. Just pancakes (and two of them had NO chocolate chips! Just regular.
It was literally the WORST service ever. Oh she also said “I can make them chocolate milk but we’re out so i would have to make a new batch.” Ummm okay??? I ordered chocolate milk for the kids. I used to work at a cafe. It’s easy. Mix the chocolate mix with the milk. Pour it. Don’t complain, this is your JOB.
I still gave a 20% tip but damn. Worst ihop I have EVER been to. Get a new...
Read moreI never leave reviews, but today, I absolutely had to.
I came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning while waiting for my bike to be repaired at the Harley dealership. The restaurant was very busy and the servers were running their tails off. I have no complaints at all about my service, it was great, and my server (Courtney) was on top of everything. My food arrived quickly, and was hot and delicious. The problem I do have is with the manager on duty (Tameisha). She yelled at the servers nonstop, and they could do nothing right as far as she was concerned. First she yelled at them to bus tables. Less than five minutes later, she yelled for all of them to report to the line. Shortly thereafter, she yelled at them again to clean tables because "There was no food up." It continued on like this the entire time I was in the restaurant, which is why I gave atmosphere only one star. No one wants to listen to this while having breakfast. Furthermore, at no time did the manager assist the servers with all this work she was yelling about, she just stayed in the back, between the line and the dining room while the servers ran non stop. There was never a time, when I was there, that she praised or offered any positive reinforcement to the servers. This is textbook poor leadership.
I strongly suggest someone from upper management speak to Tameisha, for two reasons. First, customers don't want to listen to constant yelling when they're trying to have breakfast. Second, people don't quit jobs because of the work, they quit jobs because of the management. If this person doesn't receive some leadership training, this restaurant is going to have no servers and...
