I had an issue 6 months ago where I placed an order for delivery, they didn’t come for almost 2 hours (wait was to be 45 mins to an hr.) I called to check on it and got hung up on multiple times. They finally showed up super late and I wasn’t home because I literally went somewhere else to get food when they were a no show and they were not answering their phones. I told them after 2+ hrs that I no longer needed the food they said would be there in 45 mins or so.
Fast forward 6 months - I decide to give them another chance and place an order for pick up, thereby avoiding the delivery issue altogether. They literally call me right away to “Make sure you actually want your order.” Excuse me?! I ask, why wouldn’t I want my order? “Well the last time you placed an order, we delivered it and you didn’t want it. I’m making sure you actually want your order this time.” Unreal. First of all, that was not the situation. And secondly, way to prove what kind of a company you are when a customer attempts to give you a second chance. I wouldn’t trust them to make my food after a rude phone call like that. I should have trusted my instincts with this restaurant to begin with.
Good thing Panda Express is opening...
Read moreArguably the best Chinese food in the Donelson/Hermitage area. Off hand I can think of 5 other Chinese food restaurants in the general area I've been to multiple times that just don't compare.
It's a shame that reviews older than a year or so still negatively impact the overall rating of a business because the low ratings from 1-3 years ago are way off base now and not representative at all of this restaurant.
Not to mention a moderate amount of low scoring reviews that are due to negative experiences with the delivery services and not the restaurant. Of course if Uber Eats delivers your food an hour after it was ready it's gonna suck. That's not the restaurant's fault don't take it out on them with low star reviews.
If you'd had it 10 minutes after it was prepared you would've found that this place makes arguably the best Chinese food in the area.
It's possibly the best Chinese food I've found since moving to Nashville...
Read moreNew China has the best Chinese food I think I have ever eaten. I have to caution you that I like the "HOT" food best. I like all the vegetables, and I don't like breading, so I had, "Chicken w/ Garlic Sauce" for $8.95. I got fried rice also. The total bill was under $11.00, and it fed me for three days. Now I'm a small woman, but I stuffed myself each time I ate.
There is no buffet, and they cook the meals as they are ordered. So, you know the food is fresh. It is also steaming hot. It was so good, it was all I could think about when the leftovers were in the fridge, and I haven't thought of anything else since I had it. I'm on a tight budget, and a tight diet, but as soon as I can, I'm going back!
The restaurant is small, but the food is worth it. I highly reccomend New China restaurant on Donelson Pk....
