Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in Tennessee. Being from Philadelphia, I am hypercritical of sandwiches, but this went so much farther than the mediocre sandwich.
I only went to this place because it’s called Penn Station East Coast Subs. I’m expecting some genuine hoagies. I order a mixed cheese hoagie and they make a cheesesteak… so they had to make a new one and they literally put 3 slices of cheese on the sandwich. One slice of provolone on one side, a slice of American in the middle and a slice of Swiss on the other side. I have been eating cheese hoagies since I had a kid and it’s layered cheeses. I have never in my life seen something so pathetic. The sandwich was almost 13 bucks too so for 3 pieces of cheese I was pretty upset. The bread was skimpy and doughy. Not even mediocre, just all around bad bread. The sandwich was BAD.
The fries were ok at best. Didn’t have much of a taste besides salt. They looked really good in the pictures but were very disappointing. Also in the pictures they had cheese whiz and when I asked about it they had no clue what I was talking about.
The lemonade just plain sucked. No ice, just warm gross lemonade.
For my meal of (terrible skimpy) sub, mediocre French fries and a warm lemonade, it was 28 bucks. After my food was made the kid informed me the company is based in Ohio…
I wouldn’t go back here if I...
Read moreThis place is great. I love their Philly without mustard or pizza sauce. There fries a exceptional. I've only had one bad experience with one of the crew members. When you go in they ask you what your name is and put it in the computer. I told the guy my name was Tamela (sounds like Pamala bUT with a T ) when my meal is readying the same guy calls my name out as Tameka. This has happened on three occasions last year which turned me off completely. Its like you heard me when I said my name, you spelled it out on your computer, so where in the heck are you getting Tameka from. I'm like yeah I'm black but don't give me a black name, especially if it's not mines. People screw my name up all the time.... I get called Ta-meee-la, Ta-male-la... because the way it's spelled, but not a name I just said you for and 10 min later you call me something completely different. And again this has happened on three occasions with the same staff member. Two of those times it happened twice in one week. The second time it happened the guy calls me Tameka and as I was leaving another staff member yells bye Tamela. So I'm thinking seriously, he heard me say my name and he wasn't even taking my order or checking me out. I stayed away for a year. I'm not sure if that same douchebag is still there, I hope not. But everyone else is and always has...
Read moreStaff screwed up multiple orders including ours, customers were upset with remarks about stuff missing, parts of ordered given out several minutes apart. For our own personal order my wife got her sandwich first and was missing stuff, not a huge deal we got it added back on only to find out it was also missing mayo and honey mustard but why bother giving it back again, she was very hungry and we had to wait to long. Probably 5 minutes later I got my sandwich it was much more bland than normal so I believe it was missing stuff as well but I wasn’t sure what. I had to ask for my fries and was almost done eating my sandwich when I finally got my fries.
Another customer came out of the bathroom visibly irritated grabbing napkins to dry her hands when I went to get napkins and she made the comment I’m never coming here again it’s been 30 minutes to get my sandwich and they have no soap or paper towels in the bathrooms. I noticed several customers that were waiting when we arrived and we got our food before them but they should have gotten their food long before we did. It’s apparent staff needs some direction and order as I saw other peoples ordered get messed up too and they sent stuff back...
