The price wasnt to biting..... Didnt let me get the $5 off $25 purchase for downloading the app, cuz they rang us up before we got to the cashier. Place was still pretty packed and obviously had jus been hit with a rush cuz really not 1 table clean and silverware was scarce. Rolls were at least a 20 minute wait... and personally taste was great but too tough for me to chew and I Like tough bread. Only 1 steak close to ready but was good when I finally got a piece, the ham carving was down to jus a small nub. The other carving on left of grill was too small to identify what it even was. The ribs my other half got 15 min before me was absolutely awesomely flavorful, juicy and tender but when I got seemed the whole tray was totally dried out hard/tough with sauce thru on top. Out of 3 sm. chunks of ribs I got might of gotten 3 bites that were edible The fish was awesome... thicker pieces were not done tho... they were not opaque in middle and not tender or flaky...tough to pull apart but thats undercooked ate edges of big pieces and was yummy. Shrimp was awesome too!! They had plenty lemon wedges for the seafood but no cocktail or tartar sauce that I could find on any of the 3 bars. Baked potatoes were barely done and would not melt butter, but the red tater w/ cheese and butter were awesome eats. The fried chicken was a lil stringy/tuff but was tasty and not over breaded. The turnip green to not be fresh were excellent along with fried okra and broccolli... really liked the idea of cheese sauce for broccolli in pump next to it instead of on it cuz I cannot eat brocolli and cheese... to me its awful but alot like it that way!!! So very good compromise!!! Strawberry shortcake had icing..yuk to me!! Fake strawberry swirl cake had whip cream... cake was yuk but whip topping on it was much better on the strawberry shortcake. The PB Cookies were to me jus like homemade and the Cheesecake was the Bomb!!!did not care for the choc. drizzle on it tho. The carrot cake was undercooked or somehow too dense and wet. Icing was fine but cake...yukkk!! The waiter was really on top of his job considering silverware shortage and jus being bomb rushed an trying to clean. Managed to get us steak knives soon as we got a piece of steak from bar. He kept my husbands glass full of drink also and thats hard to keep up with. The womens bathroom was in pretty sad shape paper evetywhere and 1 stalls toilet was nasty!!!! People are awful... Nowadays cuz that was uncalled for..... not stores fault...it was patrons tho!!! And employees had not yet got to it..... We will visit again as soon as we can as it was all very good overall and it is very hard to impress me with price and product... cuz I am very...
Read moreWe came in on a Saturday night around 6 and the restaurant was slammed. Line for steaks all the way to the salad bar. Walter the Grill cook was doing an excellent job literally cooked one of the best steaks I have ever ate at this specific location that I have been eating at since I was 6 years old so almost 30 years. Especially since he was the only person manning the 2-3 person work station that usually is on a Friday or Saturday night. The manager who was in the kitchen tonight started yelling at him saying that he should take over cooking steaks if he can’t cook them faster. The entire line told him that he was in the wrong and that the cook was doing excellent and that there should definitely be 2 people manning that station. After that since we were sitting in the first row of tables that could see the kitchen I started paying attention to the manager and the entire environment of the staff. I notice in the 30 min I watched the manager had not changed his gloves 1 time in 30 min and saw him go to grill for a sec, wipe surfaces, change several foods on buffet clean a knife in an obvious hand washing sink, wash the counters with a visibly dirty towel, was not wearing a hair net or hat, picking up trash etc. he was literally a walking what not to do with food safety video. Which I know because I have 10 years in management and restaurant experience. And I literally use to train cooks on a corporate level for several restaurants. When I addressed the manager outside the kitchen not in front of his cooks because that’s the way you should correct someone not in front of guests or peers because I had had enough watching it he literally lied to my face saying he has been changing his gloves until I told him exactly what all he has touched since wearing those gloves. Tried to act as if it was a complaint on the cook when I told him that cook was doing an excellent job and he literally is a walking health code violation which was my complaint he was the only one in his kitchen that I could visibly see was not following health and safety rules and practices. And in order to lead people he should try to be an example of what’s expected not of what should...
Read moreI love Golden Corral but this place was horrendous. I went with 5 of my children it was $66 but that is reasonable. We set to the left and apparently it is a worker's break station because all of these worker's were sitting spread out and eating. We pick a spot that has 6 seats and one of the workers tried to shoo us away..... I looked at her and I think she got the point. I left our drink orders on the table and helped kids get food. The 3 oldest can get their own. As I am walking around it is apparent the food has been out for a long time. The sliders looked horrendous so I grabbed both of the ones left to encourage them to make more... they never did. The pizza was terrible (not that I like it it just looked so bad). The hush puppies were so old you could not bite into them without risking chipping a tooth. I found some stuff the little kids would enjoy like Mac and Cheese, rolls, fried chicken, catfish, and mashed potatos. I went back for mine after the older kids came back. The guy on the grill was no where to be found and I waited for a while. I looked around and got some Pot Roast which is always good. and then I decided to try the chili. I grabbed some Sour cream from the potato bar, some cheese and pickled jalapenos from the salad bar and some oyster crackers and it was good chili (the only reason why it is not a 1 star. I came back to the table and there were no drinks.... I looked around and saw all the workers on break chattin up a storm right in the store. I didnt know who to ask tbh and waited another 6 minutes before just walking up to the drink station with my little ticket and waiting for someone to come by. Needless to say I had to ask for the meat guy to get to work as well and I had to ask for the dessert lady to put out more cotton candy. The place is horribly mismanaged with every single spot not doing there jobs. They allowed the food to get way past its regular food time and even after getting my drink I had to ask for a refill. I did not leave a tip and will not be back at that Golden Corrall. It would have been 1 thing if they were short staffed or something, but it was not a very busy night and there were staff all...
