This is the best tea I've ever tasted. I've never been much of a tea drinker because there just was never much substance to tea - I would always need 3-4 bags to get anywhere close to the robustness I wanted. There is so much flavor and substance to these teas! Every flavor I've tried (3 so far) has knocked my senses into gear and I can't wait to try more.
Additionally, the owner was amazing. She clearly absolutely loves what she does and carries much deserved pride in her product. These are all natural - no syrups - and the flavor comes straight from the leaves, berries, fruits, beans, etc that she uses to craft her teas. She goes into detail, while in the shop, how to brew/steep the teas at home and will let you try what flavors she has prepared that day to help you know if you will enjoy what you are purchasing.
My favorite has been the Orange Spice Chai (I believe that's the name - I'll be ordering some for home soon). I purchased the Chocolate Chai and am loving that one very much, too!! I bought my husband the Candy Cane but we have not tried it yet (it was a stocking suffer for him). I tasted a decaf tea while I was in the shop but cannot remember the name of it right now, but it was also wonderful.
I very highly recommend stopping into this shop if in Nashville and definitely ordering online. I only visit Nashville occasionally but the owner ships her tea all over and I will definitely be returning to the shop when I return...
Read moreI am somebody who enjoys boba. The place is very cute with an enjoyable atmosphere. I went with somebody and I got the milk tea with chewy boba, and they got the peaches and cream drink. For my drink, I was expecting the boba to be like tapioca because it said "chewy boba" on the board. However I was taken by surprise as I took a sip of my drink and the "boba" was somewhat of a hard jelly texture. I have had jelly boba before, and the texture was way softer than this strange texture which has bestowed upon my tongue. The fault is on me for not asking what the "chewy boba" actually is, but I still found the drink to be a bit strange. The taste of the milk tea seemed to be watered down with milk and not much of a tea flavor. It was too sweet for me. I tried some of the peaches and cream drink, and it did not come through with the peach flavor. I do not know if it was just the person making the drink but it should really be renamed to "cream and cream." However, there is a cute sitting area with little games to play at the tables, but the wooden connect 4 did not have all of the checkers in it. If you like your drinks really sweet, I'd recommend this place to you. But I was really disappointed considering the reviews I looked at...
Read moreMy wife and I visit Nashville each fall and always stop by Sweetea’s Tea Shop to try new tea’s. Since our last visit in the fall of 2017, Sweetea’s came under the new ownership of Jaime Vermillion. As soon as we entered this October, Jamie greeted us and offered samples of Thai Chai tea on display. Right away, we realized this was the best Chai tea we had ever tasted, so far. We each ordered a large hot Thai Chai and enjoyed our new favorite drink while relaxing on one of the plush sofas and watching a brief downpour outside.
Jaime made time to educate us about this tea and how we could alter the ingredients to produce subtle changes to the taste. While we walked in thinking we would purchase a regular Chai tea, we left with all the ingredients for our new favorite Thai Chai tea. Jaime is exceedingly customer-centric and committed to her business, and will no doubt be very successful with Sweetea’s. As soon as we returned home a few weeks ago, we began mixing various ingredients for a Thai Chai tea. We can’t wait until fall 2019 when we again visit Sweetea’s Tea Shop and discover new...
