I’m leaving this review solely because I don’t want Dale & Dollops to become another vegan business that disappears. This place used to be our go to spot & we’d drive almost an hour, multiple times a month, just to eat here. We loved the breakfast platters, the nachos, the weekly specials, and the vibe and feeling we’d get here.
When they closed for the winter season, we waited eagerly for updates, but there were months of silence. No word on when they’d reopen or what to expect. When they finally reopened in May, things had changed and not for the better. The menu was different, quality felt different, and some of the dishes we came specifically for were just gone. The nachos, which used to be amazing, now have different meat (not as good), and the portion size is noticeably smaller. We came back today because I had an appointment nearby, and the side of chips was mostly just crumbs. After our first visit back, we just haven’t felt excited to return and that’s sad for us.
We want to keep coming here & supporting a vegan business that has great staff and people who care about their customers. I hope you’ll consider bringing back some of the original menu items (especially the breakfast platters) and revisit the original nacho meat. Even adding the new dishes alongside the classics could help you appeal to both new and returning customers. I understand concerns with a small kitchen but I hope there’s a middle ground where you can return to the old menu’s quality.
Also please don’t stop posting on social media. We used to love seeing your specials and updates. A little more communication / community involvement would go a long way.
Still rooting for you but missing the Dale & Dollops we fell...
Read moreWent today with my girlfriend as she had heard good things. This is a place with zero pride of ownership. Employees shirts were covered in stains and didn’t have a cleanly appearance. Bathroom floor covered in loose toilet paper (I chose to not use after looking inside) they had a photo booth area with a couch that had a dirty rag on it, as well as a Polaroid selfie station that was out of order and had no film. Basic hygiene and daily cleaning of the establishment isn’t being done and I worry what the kitchen must be like. Asked for to go boxes and they forgot, leaving us waiting for 10 minutes before we just used napkins to wrap our food. Posters peeling off the walls and the floors are sticky. I had an underwhelming Taylor ham and cheese sandwich and the Mac and cheese was crusty and overcooked. Shamrock shake was good and so were the potatoes “homefries”. Fun concept but poor execution. The staff was nice but not having water available except for bottles you had to buy was a turn off. Absolutely everything was self service no napkins brought out they would call out your order and you had to walk up to get anything. Don’t call yourself a diner if you can’t provide basic service. I wish I had nicer things to say but for an $80 bill for two I expected more especially for being a new establishment, it’s a surprise to see how run down it already appears. Power rangers game on the Super Nintendo was a good way to pass the time and wait for the food but who knows if the controllers are being cleaned. I hope the owner sees this and takes everything I’m saying seriously. None of these problems are impossible to fix but the general upkeep of the place isn’t what...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant tonight for a quick meal before heading home, but unfortunately, our 6-year-old ended up vomiting multiple times at the restaurant and during the ride home. We had ordered two grilled cheeses, mac and cheese, and a plate of nachos. I had checked the menu for the ingredients of all these items. My daughter took a bite of a nacho and immediately started having a reaction, and her throat began to close up. I quickly gave her Benadryl and tried to identify what caused the reaction. It turned out that the chipotle cream on the nacho contained cashews, to which my daughter is highly allergic. I hope the restaurant will take steps to prevent such incidents in the future and improve their food safety measures. The staff working tonight just asked if everything was okay, and when I told them about what was happening, they didn't seem to care much. No one offered to help. I was also with my 18-month-old, and it was such an awful dining experience. All I ask is that you write that the chipotle sauce contains cashews or highlight items on your menu that contain nuts so no one has to go through what we went...
